I do this exercise at least 3 times a season so here’s my latest list.

FB: *  *  Hartigan
HB: Newman  Hall  Thursfield
C: Tambling  Polo  Jackson
HF: Tuck  *  Meyer
FF: McGuane  *  *
Foll: Pattison, Deledio *
Int: Hyde, Brown,  *  *

If Hall, Hyde, and Brown are playing in 2010 i will go hee. Brown is 28 next year and is recocvering from a potentially career ending injury whilst Hall is a truck and Hyde will not stay that long me thinx.

not his go im afraid
i think RFC should bite the bullet and attempt to trade Cogs & Krak to eagles for Kerr and a tall
Cogs may never regain full running ability and strength to kick the ball long distances, as good as cogs is we have tuch & foley as in and unders

God this makes me laugh. Go back and have a look at Cogs a few years back. Kicking has never been his strong point and never was the most penetrating kick.

fair dinkum some people would beleive the world is flat because some one once said it was so. ;D

thanks for reinforcing my point about trading him

so your saying cogs has no penetration in his kicking, he is not fast, he doesnt kick goals - apart from hardness at the contest and ball winning ability - which i believe we dont lack at RFC - why si everyone up in arms when you suggest a trade with cogs.....

harts      *       thirsty
jacko   mcguane    *
raines   cogs    meyer
tuck     pato      bling

richo playing in 2010? I think not.
Where's Moore?
and I think Razor will surprise everyone with his steady improvement.

Hi all,

I need some help here.

Following Rosy's challenge on our long term future, I've decided to use the old Kevin Sheedy trick of pulling out the blackboard and writing down the players that I'm very confident will be part of a Tiger premiership side in 2009/2010.

I've only listed the players that I feel over 90% certain about.

B: xxxxx, xxxxx, Thursfield
HB: Newman, xxxxx, Tuck
C: xxxxx, Polo, Coughlan
HF: Brown, xxxxx, Meyer
F: Simmonds, xxxxx, Tambling
R: Pattison, Deledio
Ro: Foley
Int: Bowden, xxxxx, xxxxx, xxxxx

There are a few who I feel 50-80% about, especially amongst the juniors, I've left these out.

I expect everyone to have a different opinion. That's the nature of the beast.
I look forward to other people's teams.

Interesting to look back at this.

In retrospect, the disappointing aspect of our team is that there are still a fair few twilight players still on our list that I suspected would have gone by 2009/10. Only Brown (pre-leg break) & Bowden (on interchange) were the only two senior players from early 2005, I suspected, would still be on the list.
Conversely, it is a credit to both Terry Wallace & the boys that others from the senior group have been able to make a greater contribution for longer than expected.

Credit also goes to those juniors, such as Moore, McGuane, et al, that have risen to become regular senior players, though their status may have been more uncertain back in early 2005.

Hopefully the transition will burn just as brightly through 2009 till we have the team that we need to go all the way.

Credit to Rosy, too, for building a site where so much valuable info has been stored for future review.

This was a good call too.

so i assume we are looking at what 2013 2014 for the next guess.
personally if i have to rate them at 90% i can only think of a handful you would expect to be there in 2013.cotchin, deledio, foley, moore, riewoldt, thursfield maybe.

age says by 2013 2014 all of bowden, brpwn coughlan, johnson, newman, pettifer, richardson, simmonds and tuck will all go.thats 9 definate goners. just on age.
graham hughes jackson king mcguane mcmahon jon pattison polak polo raines schulz are not rated highly and if we are for real they will be turned over, thats another 12.

casserly gourdis hyde meyer have already gone, thats a total of 25. so theres 15 left of 40 of which only 6 are 90% certs of being there in 2013 2014. the remainder collins connors edwards morton putt rance tambling white are not 90% certs.

before i post this people are going to look at this and say, to harsh claw. but in reality 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, thats 5 drafts that is just 4 to 5 picks each draft its a turn over of players from the list proper of just 4 to 5 per yr on average.pesonally i would be speeding up the process.
