The incident only happened because Schulz had practically stopped after Newman's fantastic rundown tackle...obviously expecting a holding the ball free to be awarded. Hamill never stops. Because Schulz had stopped he was static, off-balance and unpepared for being slammed to the turf. If he was prepared he would have walked away with maybe nothing more than being winded - he's a big lad.

That was such a great hit. Not entirely legal, but still a great bump. Absolutely laid him out. I was watching the replay the other day and you can really see that we need a player like Turner in our team today. His physicality lifted the entire team.
It probably wasn't anywhere near legal, but neither was the one earlier in the game when an Essendon ruckman clobbered Naish way off the ball, so the precedent was set and a little "rough justice" was served up to balance things out (but the Essendon supporters conveniently "forget" about the Naish hit when they were screaming over O'Donnell........)
Not a great fan (of his) but Hamill's aggression & our lack of goal kicking midfielders were the winning & losing of FRiday's game....Shame Ray wasn't available to help keep Hamill occasionally preoccupied..

I think some people got their dates mixed up and thought Good Friday was yesterday.
Honestly guys (made especially in reference to the 'fellows' who posted 'at' Heather yesterday), I would love to see you all laugh on the other side of your face after you’ve been polaxed by a so-called legitimate tackle from Aaron Hamill.
Would have also been interested to read your reactions if Heather’s name was ‘Heath’ for example. Didn’t see any words of angst written to ‘yellow and black’ who started the thread. :

I’ll think I’ll do a Terry fair dinkum spew, if I read any more comments about netball, ‘playing like girls’ and derogatory references to tea and scones.

I also can’t believe people will go into bat for another team’s player, and kick in the stomach one of our own supporters.

Hey! I’m not saying that I don’t like the physical elements of the game. I love a great hip and shoulder with the best of them, but I don’t like Hamill’s arrogance, and I hope our boys never catch anything like that.
He may not be a thug of the past, but he is definitely a thug of the present. Countless times I’ve seen him punch or elbow player’s in the stomach behind play, intentionally rub their face into the ground, or knee them in the back when they are down.
That is not good football, it’s just malicious.
You can be tough without being a thug.

Thanks FigJam, Rosy, little_hally47and Rimau Junior for your support. You may not agree with my point of view and the majority of posters have been just posting their opinions. But a few have been personally attacking me. I feel I must respond.
