AFL court injunction

Strange that all you Victorians are very happy to declare private medical info is actually private when it comes to players from your own clubs.... But when its an Eagles player overseas who could very well just have had a bug that information suddenly must be released for the good of the community, press freedom etc. You are so (Smile)ing hypocritical.

Sorry but the difference in which the two incidents where treated peeves me off.
who are we talking about ? Chad Fletcher have noit seen his records , if he decides to then he has given consent to do so if he decides not to then no they won't be made public ,

Where did the players in the injuction case the club at that matter get a chocie ! they did not get any choice in the matter at all that is why they should not have made public the club at all let alone people saying they should let the players be known too ! i will fight this and argue this till i did and if this offends you sorry but i am sticking up for all people who want their medical records Kept Private ! :veryupset

I reckon the seven players records should all be private, the only reason that those mob had no choice and had to seek the injunction was that the medical place was incompetant and had the files leaked.

But at the start of the year that hag Caro and every other hack journalist who follows the AFL were all over Chad Fletcher (and Cousins) like a bad rash asking for the results etc. But half of those same hack journalists are right behind the privacy issue for the seven victorians. Thats the hypocrisy i'm on about.

There is a difference between demanding a player show his records (and him maintaining the right to say no), and medical records being misappropriated from the secure medical clinic and made public. The breach of law gave the lawyers the ability to demand confidentiality be maintained. As for the hypocrites, they (lead by 7) took the issue to court to fight the injunction, with 7 only backing down when it was made pretty clear that they would lose.

The key player behind this (who we cannot name ::)) is still a very sought after target by the media here, and as soon as they get anything they can pin on him (free of an injunction) its gunna get ugly.

On the Fletcher incident, I couldn't find a decent article, but I did get this for you:

http://www.smh.com.au/news/afl/fletchers-las-vegas-medical-record-stays-secret/2007/03/18/1174152881058.html

The whole issue of the tox report is Colin Young's own making. If you claim you have a report that clears your client, and that it will be ready shortly, but then you later refuse to release it, you struggle in the credibility stakes. If you wish to say "we are getting a report that will clear my client", you have to show the bl00dy report or you are just full of it. Not Chad's fault this one, just another idiot player manager.

forever ! medical records are private ch 7 should not have even named the club [ yes cause of them we do know who but you better not say!]
they knew it was wrong to do so they also knew that the doctor or club were going about getting that injunction put on the story !

ch 7 are Ar$e H*les for doing that ! yes i am mad sorry , wouldn't you be if it happened to you that your medical records were leaked and put on the news etc . there is a privacy act that ch 7 would have known about and would have known that if they breached it it would cause trouble ! , if anything they could still have done the story with out naming any club or player at all but still done the story , it would have got the message across with out causeing trouble to any club that may have been involved !

another thing at least the persons were getting help not pulled over and charged or what ever for drug offenses ! :veryupset :fire :frustration
this is what i want to do to howard ! :bash

It's nice and easy to post this absoloute sh!t when people are restricted in what they can say back to you isn't it >:( .... I sincerely hope you are fully supportive of Ben Cousins and wouldn't argue against him playing again ...

i would have said this anyway you medical records are private simple as that it is in the thing called the privacy act simple as that !

Ben is another kettle of fish i feel sorry for his family friends syupporters etc did someone tell everyone about his medical records ?

i just found out in the states if you go to jail etc anyone can find out about that,
the 911 call is public record from what i was told,
so when the woman rang and said what she said it was public record ,
i don't know [ my friend doesn't either] if this applys to medical records over there but i would say they were private records over there too .

when his father came out the first time he did not say what he was on just that he needed help for what ever it was we could only guess what it was , the arrest well there must have been something happening there for the cops to stop him but they slightly stuffed it didn't they ,

now the story of him in hospital well i do not know how that came out i think it was that woman who picked him up saying what he was on etc and where he was at etc not someone going through his medical records so yes i will argue against him playing unless he can prove 100% he will not bring the game into disrepute or have any elligal substance in his body , prior to last trip to U.S i thought maybe there is a chance he could play again but not now sorry , if you do not like that that is not my problem it is yours

if i was fletcher i would want the conjecture and innuendo to stop. theres one easy way to do that show your records chad. people and the media unfortunately thrive on what might have been i suppose they percieve it as doing their job. as i said show the records chad clear your name what have you to lose or should i say in this case hide.
