You Vics may go BOO HOO to us but we are again confronted with the disgraceful situation of having to miss Richmond's game live on Saturday night and instead have to wait until 7:30 on Sunday morning to see Richmond take on St Kilda. I am a Foxtel subscriber and stil lcant get my value for money considering this was the main and primary reason I did get it back in 2001 was so that I could get Richmond games all the time. Now we have Brisbane v Port on two channels live at the same time and I cannot see the Richmond game until SUnday morning.

I have emailed AFL Broadcasting on numerous occasions and all they can say is that the yare working tirelessly on this (which I find hard to belive). IT is a situation that should never occur and again Isuggest Foxtel can use the Main Event channel. Have emailed them too about half an hour ago and hope they can fix this.

Should not happen in this day and age.

Good old Sunday Morning Footy.

BTW, Foxtel already show the game on Main Event but only into NSW and ACT. It would be a flick of a switch to show it to everyone that doesn't get it through channel 10. Must be some political issues between Fox and 7/10.

But you're right, it shouldn't happen in the pay tv era. If FTA choose not to show their game, pay tv should automatically get the option to show it live.

Here, here, its not much better in WA although we are at least getting the Tiges on Staurday night albeit at 8 oclock. I too got foxtel as I thought it was a way of seeing the tigers live living interstate. This new tv deal is pathetic! I cannot believe the AFL allows the same game to be televised on both free to air and pay tv.

I know over the last few years of watching fox that alot of people in NSW & QLD were disgruntled with the Friday night game coverage. Foxtel came to the party and now I think show Friday night games live or at least with minimal delays to these regions.
I cant see with the WA time difference why Fox cant at least show Friday night footy a bit earlier as by the time it starts on 7 the game is over!

I will however persist with my pay tv as I am a huge rugby league fan. A few years back I could sit and watch most games of AFL each weekend, with all the rule changes and new tv deals I find myself happy to kick back and watch the tiges and fill the rest of my availabe time watching league.

I hope the AFL wakes up to itself and relises while all the big wigs making these decisions want the game to make more money to make more of the big wigs millions. The majority of us interstate just want to kick back and watch our teams, as close to live as possible so we dont cop a result on a sports update just before we sit down to watch the game at some ridiculous hour.

Godo work Boilybert. Thanks for posting. I agree with you, would be tougher in Perth. I know I have accessed hte net on a Friday night and accidently seen the scores many times and I find it very frustrating. Hopefulyl we can all put up enough of a voice and try to get things changed, but as most people say the AFL care more about money than the fans. They hav built this image of themselves with the arrogant way they react to things including the Hands in the Back Rule. It is something the majority think is a disgrace but they refuse to budge. I am not going to let big corporations walk all over me and am doing my best to get things changed so these situations dont occur again.

Even in Japan we can watch the Richmond game on Saturday night!

Isnt that ridiculous, can get it on Saturday night in Japan but living here in Australia albeit South Australia I ahve to wait until Sunday morning. Ridiculous situation. I wonder if the RFC can try to help their fans in SA get this live somehow. Might email them too.

As a Sydney resident I can advise Foxtel use Main Event for AFL telecasts into NSW/QLD for the Friday night matches only. All other FTA matches are subject to delay on Fox,anything from a few hours to a day. There's no FTA Sunday AFL here unless it's a Swans fixture.

I sympathise with Shawry & other SA Tigers as they've no choice. At least here we'll be able to view the game from 10.30pm Saturday on Ch10.Just have to avoid the radio & PRE.

This season's (& seems future) TV coverage of AFL markedly inferior to previous years . The flexibility that used to be afforded by the dedicated 'Fox Footy' channel has been shifted to the Saturday night coverage of NRL,where 'active' viewers can choose by red button which of the games they can watch at 7.30pm & 9.30pm without affecting the coverage of other subscribers....Guess the difference is there's no FTA of Saturday NRL & Fox share ownership & control of the NRL.

I sympathise with you Shawry. What's the point of having Foxtel if you can't watch games live?

Marella, on the EPG on Saturday night, it lists Live AFL on Main Event and specifies that it is for NSW/ACT subscribers only. Do you not get this channel in NSW on Sat night?

I'll give it another go but well recall nothing there for the Essendon match a few weeks ago so had to wait until 10.30-11.00pm for Ch10. Pretty sure Main Event AFL in NSW only the Friday night fixture & nothing else.
