AFL Draw 2008 Predictions

Jake said:
I thought the draw was meant to be that if we play Carlton round 1, we should play Carlton round 16, we finish 2008 round 22 playing St.Kilda.
We start 2009 season playing Geelong and draw just keep's rolling along like that.

I hope you get what I mean and sorry if was posted before

In the past, every team had to play each over once in the first 15 rounds.

From next season on, this is no longer the case.

Hawthorn and Carlton meet for the first time in round 22.

I'd do what the Americans do with their baseball and football leagues. Have two leagues of eight teams. Teams play the other teams in their league twice (14 games) and the teams in the other league once (8 games). Separate ladders and finals with the two league champions playing off for the grand final. The relative strength of teams will ebb and flow so by playing the exact same schedule (as far as teams you play goes, not dates obviously) year after year you'll get a fair competition.

But the fact remains mate that it IS a business. Richmond would go broke and not exist anymore without handouts from the League, so I don't think we should complain too much.

30 games ...... The AFL should tell the players union that's what they are changing too. I work at least 48 weeks a year, I fail to see why AFL footballers can't too....
complete nonsense.
the richmond football club has NEVER taken handouts from the league.
