I know of 2 empty seats cos I mentioned to someone that I was surprised he was watching at the local pub instead of at the game and he said he just couldn't be bothered going and would have gladly given me the tickets had he realised I would have liked to have gone.
It really annoys me that grass roots supporters miss out when seats are left empty. Toyota alone have 10,000 tickets. Each dealership gets 4 tickets, supposedly one for the manager and 3 for their best clients.
Disagree Rosy on the point of empty seats were paid for & I would hate if I was running late it was sold on me had I not scanned in by a certain time. If I pay & not get in, its not the AFL's fault. I would be more concern that sonsors don't use their tickets & hope the AFL monitors how many were used by the bar codes.rosy23 said:It really annoys me that grass roots supporters miss out when seats are left empty. True it does come down to the old $$ for all supporters & not just ones classfied as "grass roots" having more of a preference.rosy23 said:Al Bundy said:Disagree Rosy on the point of empty seats were paid for & I would hate if I was running late it was sold on me had I not scanned in by a certain time. I supect people who pay for seats are far more likely to attend. My friend has tickets every year too but has become a tad blasé about it all and it means nothing to him to decide on the day not to go. He doesn't pay for his tickets though.
Good luck to you choosing the right membership to ensure you get to a grand final every year but that's not an option for many basic, grass roots club members. The ones who attend each week throughout the season but to whom a grand final attendance is almost an impossible dream.
