Ablett got in. Should Carey? Clearly to me the idea is based on the hallowed MLB Hall of Fame, but that Hall is notoriously difficult to enter. How do the two compare as far as standards for entrance go, and how high should the "morality" criteria be. For example Pete Rose a player in baseball who was at least as high on the pecking order of greatness in MLB as Carey in AFL, may never get into the MLB Hall because of gambling on matches. I for one think Ablett should never have gotten in and think these "moral" criteria should be as high as possible. The media and AFL do nothing but whinge about falling standards etc but when they had the chance to make a massive symbolic stand they dropped the ball.
