AFL RESERVE - Ticket Information

For AFL reserve tickets via Ticketek, the operator i had on opening day was brilliant, knew her stuff...

Also best available in the AFL reserve started in N (2nd level) and ground level M (undercover) then P (3rd level) and M in the open "ground level" at the same time and last was top deck Q sec (4th level)...

Currently only available is top deck Q sec as all bottom 3 levels M, N and P are "completely sold out"...Not even single seats..All SOLD.
Top deck Q is selling more so now the backend rows V and Z etc etc..with 10 days still to go there will be no walk up IMO for the AFL reserve.
So if ur an AFL richmond member and still havent got ur seats get em i say as u might miss out...

Availability:

Level Q Available

Im not that familiar with the MCC set up, but I did read that all MCC guest passes have been issued ... I have a feeling this will be 90,000+ :o

well i think we have known for sometime that this match will be close to sell out, even though the G fits about 100,000, these days unless its a grand final 90,000+ is the new sold out...

I think there will be some walk up in the public reserve and MCC members, dont think the AFL reserve there will be any seats left come next thurs nite.
Anyways we'll get more of an idea by next wed by the AFL and MCC on how many seats are left in areas around the G.

went got my tickets in afl reserve today.. section Q18 row CC... 2 rows from the back.. just booked them so i am guareenteed entry.. It is so far back that i think i will just stand at ground level... seriously cant believe how many tickets are sold for this match considering they have not made it a ticketed game only...

wow 2 rows from the back but at least u have tkts and like u said if u go where standing room is ur probably have a better view of the game...

Looks like Astute's predictions are spot on.

Just received an email from the AFL, which states that guess passes have now been restricted to 1 per member.

I'm glad I took his advice last week and booked in 1 member upgrade and 4 guests. Only in section Q row R, but when you are travelling all the way from S.E. Qld, its peace of mind to know that you are guaranteed entry.

Thanks for the advice Astute Tiger.

I think that I might post this on the Ticketec post as well, as it may have an impact on general admission sales

RT.

Guest passes have also been restricted in the RFC Locker Room. Usually it's two per member now it's one and they're to be allocated by ballot. Ballot closes Friday.

Its at times like this that I wish the AFL would show a little imagination and do something to increase the capacity for a game like this

There is no reason why they couldnt errect some tempoary seating above some of the tractor gate at the PRE (leaving enough room for ambulance etc) - if you look around the ground there are 4-5 places where in total another 3-4000 seats could be temporarily added:

For games like this, Anzac day and the GF they should just do a little 'extra' to help kick the G over 100k and enjoy the publicity it engenders (to say nothing of the fact it allows more people to see a game they love). It would also partly nulify the reliance on MCC members showing up to ensure the attendance total breaks 90 or 100k. Its good for the game and in this day and age wouldnt take that much effort. I know there are certiain Health & Safety issues to consider, but nothing that couldnt be overcome with a little imagination.

thanx RT im glad i was able to help and provide that info earlier on....when i got my tkts i thought wow this is going crazy and its only the first day so i just thought id give the heads up to all AFL richmond club support members and ineffect all members of the RFC as i had a very strong feeling that this game would be close to sell out or 90% of the best seats being sold very early on...

Hope your trip from S.E Qld brings u a win and for you to celebrate with all the other tiger faithful...

Well as u know ive been checking every few days on the AFL reserves availability for seating and well it now says this below as i just went online (ticketek)...

Member: ???????????

There are no tickets available that match this member’s entitlements.

Availability:

Reserved Seats Alloc. Exhausted

If so this is crazy as the reserve has now been sold out almost a week out from the game, to be 100% sure ill wait till monday and see what the MCG and AFL say about what seating is left (if any)...Im not confident there will be any seats left as i received an email "below" from the AFL before tkts actually went on sale to advise that ALL seats in the AFL Reserve can be booked...

MCG Match Upgrade Information
Due to the anticipated high demand for reserved seating by AFL Members, a decision has been made to upgrade the following matches during March and April of the 2009 Toyota AFL Premiership Season, to 'Reserve on Demand' matches (click here for 'Reserve on Demand' description):

Round 1 - Richmond v Carlton
Round 1 - Hawthorn v Geelong Cats
Round 3 - Geelong Cats v Collingwood

A 'Reserve on Demand' classification allocates areas within the AFL Reserve that are generally held for walk-up to be made available to reserve in accordance to member demand.

Contingent on actual demand, all seats in the AFL Reserve may be booked in advance for 'Reserve on Demand' matches, meaning walk-up may not be available.

Seating levels will be released in the following order in accordance to demand:
» Level N
» Level M undercover and Level P
» Level M in the open in conjunction with Level Q (Rows A - T)
