AFL Trade Week - A success?

they keep their high draft picks and back their recruiters in to get the job done

unlike us

We kept our first two selections didn't we?

You are talking as if we gave them away.

We would have once. We are learning slowly...

Toots we did keep 2 and 18.

But 2 18 19 and 28 for Jay wouldve got 1 gun mid 2 KPP and a ruck.

2, 18 and 19 , wouldve got 1 gun mid and 2 KPP.

We now get 1 mid and 1 KPP if we are lucky.

Thats what pisses me off with plenty of good KPP options and rucks this year the tigers have dismally failed to capitalise on a strong position and opportunity to address the *smile* pathetic list and lack of structure which as of now is worse than last year.

Cale Morton is a lock in at 2. Miller couldnt lie straight in bed.

He is a grandstanding mercenary and needs to be gotten rid of.

This is not a thread on Richmond's trading so bugger off if you are going to troll, this is a thread on how trade week has been dying a slow death.

Well, it's 10 to 12, and there have already been 9 trades, 3 more already than last year.

So what are people's thoughts? Is trade week back?

getting back to the original topic which got hijacked into how good/bad our recruiting is.

yes trade week is back. 18 trades all up according to the tracker, including interestingly a swap of picks only between west coast and bulldogs. but maybe there were more trades this year because of the perceived weak draft, where as last year was a 'super' draft so everyone held onto their picks.

and judd's trade will go down in the future as one of the biggest ever australian rules stories. it will be interesting to see how it changes the landscape of AFL football. carlton got judd for a bargain. more than a bargain. whether west coast get their money's worth out of it depends on how kennedy goes for the next 10 years.

it could of been easy for the eagles to trade one of their early picks 13/20/22 but they didnt do it

i had no problem with losing 19 if it was for quality such as wood or whatever, the pies offered 14 i reckon 19 + schulz would of got us over the line, it seems we didnt even bother talking to him

morton although has talent has robbed us of that pick 35 which was likely to be for a project ruck most likely putt maybe sullivan

51/67 is garbage and the psd is a joke

pick 2 for morton and who knows what we will end up with at 18

atleast we will have cream picks this time next year :-[

The bigest dissapiontment from trade week was the inability to trade up to a second first round pick so that we could pick up a Rance etc

This observation makes me wonder in fact whether Morton or Cotchin are a lock in at pick 2. You only have to look at the Hawks picking up Roughead very early when 2 or 3 others were tipped. Obviously the odds are that one of these 2 boys will be our pick but you never know

Hey give Miller some credit...he didn't take Kepler Bradley ;D

Mail is Ess want Freos pick in the 40s for him and they said get stuffed

Yep so much quality that the lions were happy to trade him...The magpies better hope he comes on using pic 14 in my eyes is a risk.

Morton has robbed us of pic 35 and u continue to say use 35 for a project ruck...we have used pic 35 on a classy midfielder who at 20 has done his apprencticeship at the eagles, the eagles offered him a contract and he rejected it, i think we did well thier irockz.

Id prefer cotchin, no disagreements their...im thinking we'll end up with a better player at 18 than a pic 35 on a project ruckman.
