AFL Tribunal - DISGRACEFUL!!

Do you know that the RFC has nearly always been an "Us against the world" it has been our history from day dot, good to see that nothing has changed in over 100 years?

As pathetic as the AFL decision was it was very predictable given the (perceived) need they have to get Freo into the finals.

*smile* Freo, the most useless club in the AFL. Fitzroy should have been allowed to remain in place of those pricks.

Poor decision. I actually don't mind the new system and think it gets it right more often than previoulsy. But this is an ordinary outcome. Freo argued he was trying to break Pettifer's hold on his jumper and not strike him. Clever defence - but that the appeals board swallowed it is not acceptable (as one famous nanny would say")

i always knew des headcase was gonna get off. the problem was the grading of the charge. one part of the the grading was "high contact." the problem is... there was no contact. he got off on a technicality (like jonathan brown did a couple of years ago). i like the new tribunal system, much better than the old one, but it still needs a bit of fine tuning.

i believe attempting to strike is a serious charge. much worse than being "negligent" or "reckless" because his intent was clear... he wanted to hit petts!

LeeToRainesToRoach, i tend to think this is more of a stuff up by the match review panel. if there aren't sufficient categories to grade the headland incident accurately, the match review panel has to power to refer the matter directly to the tribunal. this is what they should have done.
