Don't want to flood the forum with pages of quites from The Age, but they've reported today that Jason Akermanis has admitted that he was actually the source of the rumour that he might be interested on going to Sydney. Apparently, he did it because he felt "underappreciated and undervalued" by the Lions and was shirty that players coming in from interstate were getting paid more than him (he's a local product). Seems to have worked, too, given that his new contract's worth anout $750k over two years (reportedly).

Don't you just love it when blokes put themselves before the team? Couldn't imagine Michael Voss taking this kind of stance.
