Alex Rance

I'll own up I thought he wasn't gunna make it. I reckon his improvement has been amazing, and it doesn't look like stopping yet. rapt outta me brain with Sir Rancalot

He is in our top 5 players,
If we has another 5 like Rance, we would be in the 8.
Plays for the jumper and always puts his body on the line.
Grimes, Batchelor & Rance are the future.
Just proves that if you give someone time to get to adjust the game, he can turn out to be really good.
He is better then Gibson and Bock.

I would love us to get Merritt from Brisbane so Rance can play a Sam fisher roll in the backline..

some went early on this bloke...lol

So *smile* what. Rance making it is a massive exception to the rule as far as Richmond recruits go. Used to be able pick a dud in 5 minutes.

His overhead marking has improved astronomically from a couple of years ago.

Quite astonishing really, even at junior level he wasn't noted for his marking ability.

Now it's time to give Vickery some of the magic potion.

Yep. it's the old darksider trick. Label everyone a dud and you're bound to look good simply by playing the odds. Most recruits don't make it to elite level.

I was pretty worried about Rance early on last year, after he got suspended. He came back and started to improve his game, the biggest change was that he started to play smarter. He won most improved last year and he's gone on with it in 2012.

Absolutely slaughtered Podsiadly today. Absolutely slaughtered him

True but wasn’t a day for tall forwards. None could clunk them. But took a couple of strong pack marks.

Locked in the back half for the next 10 years.

You can add Grimes as well.

Is all Australian a fair call at this stage?
Yes, but there's no way they'll give it to him. I'm sure they're chalking Pods' performance up to a dirty day for him, not anything Rance did. It takes years for the selectors of the AA side and the media to let go of an initial negative perception.

Just wondering why NikNat's rushed point on the siren was credited?
If Rance touches the ball after the siren sounds isn't that when play is dead regardless of it then continuing over the line?
Can someone clarify this?

Play ends when the ball stops dead if the ball if the ball is kicked before the siren. He shouldn't punched it through.
