All Time Tiger Screamers

I know he cannot be mentioned but OOO took a very nice mark over a team mate about June 2004
Does anyone else recall this

Of all of Richo's marks I reckon the one he took playing for the Allies in a state of origin game I think in '96 was special. Can't remember who he took it over but he was on the southern stand wing at the G, he had the sit and he timed his leap perfectly to soar over the vic players shoulders for a spectacular one grab mark. Matthew went on to win the Alex Jesaulenko medal for the Allies BOG and his mark was also made into a pull out poster in the Herald Sun the next day.

Anyone remember the player he took it over?

i don't remember, but i have a bag full of old tiger hun articles/pictures/stat-sheets/records and I remember i had a pic of richo's screamer in there somewhere. I'll look for it someday soon out of curiosity...

Very good Otis. Make sure you revive the thread and let me know when you do.

Sadly, I had such a large collection of Tiger memorabilia when I lived at my mums but I couldn't keep it when I moved out so I threw most of it away. Like I had every footy record from every game I ever went to... the showbags you used to get from the junior clinics at punt rd... posters... books etc... I did keep most of my framed prints and better quality stuff though and still have poser sized framed action black and whites of M. Pickering, Lamby and M. Mitchell though so thankfully it's not all lost.

Some of my fave all time TIGER screamers are
Roach v Hawthorn
Bourke V Essendon
*smile* v Hawthorn
Jim Jess V Hawthorn Easter Monday 1977 came on as 19th man kicked 3 in time on to win us the match.
Pickering V Essendon Outmarked Paul Salmon 1 on 1 in the goal square.
my favorite??
Bourke v Nth Melb. Arden St his head opened up with a gash, blood streaming down his face dived head first into the ground(no grass at that ground) to take a mark and kick the wining goal.
Man what Id give to have another player like him around.

My 2 favourites are Roach's and Michael Mitchell's.

I reckon Roachy's would have been rated the GOAT if the ball had have been much higher and he had taken it above his head. I know that sounds bizzare as he was so high up anyway but he ended up swallowing it onto his chest. What made it so brilliant was the momentum he had coming into the contest which enabled him to explode upwards off the back and shoulders of his opponent.

Mitchell was simply a freakish player.

bryan wood cant remember yr.

Was it against South at VFL Park in perhaps the 77' Elimination Final and I reckon it was taken over Francis Jackson after he had left the Tigers to play for South??

A classic mark taken on the wing of course.

Does anybody remember Micheal Roach's devastaing 2nd half against Haw @ Princes Park in '81 I think...a classic premership hangover 1st half, we were about 5 goals down. Tony J. must ripped em to shreds in the rooms 'cos the '80 Premership unit came out and pulverized them, with Roach kicking 8 in 2 quarters and taking hanger after hanger. That was the Roach I'll always remember.

Come to think of it. How about the little effort at the left here?

Scores level, 10 minutes to go in a GF.

Say no more.

That mark must be rated the best. in context of game, time remaining and because he has been our best player over the past 30 years. also he wears the No 4.

Chocco Merendas over guy McKenna back in 1997 I think it was, that was a hanger stright on guy's shoulder and just hung there for ages.

Yeah, it was a great mark (kicked a point after taking his kick).
