What a terribly distressing situation for Chris and his family with the ambulance ready and waiting to take him to hospital but not being allowed to move from the G. 
I'm not sure if it's AFL or MCG policy that an ambulance can't leave until another one arrives so the poor bloke had to lay waiting in agony.
That's just not good enough and needs to be addressed asap. One day there might be life-threatening injury that ends in tragedy because of red tape preventing getting a player to a hospital in time.
