Round 2 2004, Geelong were decimiated by Injury and fielded a team with only 3 players of 100 games experience or more.

They were smashed by 50 points by Carlton, who were coming off the wooden spoon

The same year they went on to make the prelim

Now im not suggesting that we are going to make the prelim nor am i suggesting our situation is simliar to what theres was in 04.

But I am suggesting that when you field a team that lacks so much experience, theres a fair chance that heads drop quickly and you can get thumped.

Having said that, obviously to the tune of 157 points is unnacptable and something besides the lack of experience on the park is obviously at play.

Normally that is where the leadership group would have rallied the troops, gritted their collective teeth and dug a little deeper.

But . . .

That is still almost 1/4 of hte team. Nto a bad ratio for leaders. Theoretically every player should act like a leader but it all rubs off.

I've said it before, all the RFC supporters want is for the team to have a red hot go.

Leadership is born of adversity and I don’t care how young the players are, those that are good enough (heart, soul and mind) will shine (read Foley in particular). Play every one of them again this weekend and then weed those out that haven’t got what it takes! >:(
