Hello Pre people,
I have watched my long suffering husband tolerate Richmonds many defeats over the years. As a person who has never been interested in football, in fact the first match I went to was with my said husband to a grand final no less, (I found the intermission the most exciting part of the event - I enjoyed the balloons and the visit to the food courts), I have learned much from his many, understandable tirades against Richmonds' performance. I have on numerous occasions suggested that he barrack for someone else, this team is after all not performing particularly well, and if one of his sub contractors did the same he would sack them immediately, but having discovered today that Richmonds' performance over the past 5 years has not seen the team score higher than ninth place on the ladder, I suggested that it is clear that the leader, ie the coach, should be removed. In my business (I am prin of a large primary school), a school with such results would be considered under performing, and the schools leadership would be seen as having a responsibility. Contracts would not be renewed. The worst effect of such results is on the culture of the school. students, teachers and importantly, the community, see the school as underperforming, and understandably have low expectations for the future. These low expectations are damaging for a school, a business, or I suggest, for a football team. Isn't it time?

For a divorce? ;D

For better or poorer, in sickness or in health, being a Tiger is for life. There will be nothing sweeter than success when we finally taste it. All the team support through the bad times will ensure we'll enjoy the good times more. Even if Richmond remain unsuccessful there's no option to swap teams. If yellow and black is truly in your blood you're a Tiger forever. It's still a better than barracking for any other team, no matter how successful they are.

Some people just don't get it.

My wife has zero interest in sport and no doubt secretly harbours similar thoughts, such is my moodiness nearly every weekend. However, she would never dare voice such heresy, no matter how annoying my irrational behaviour gets for her.

Changing football teams is unaustralian.

I would never be able to trust such a person again. How would thet react if we were ever thrown together in the trenches in defence of the realm? Would they simply switch teams to go with the strength? Where would that leave me?

Wow, this shiela must be married to a lesbian.

There is no way that any MALE Richmond supporter would marry anyone with no interest in FOOTY.....at least real Aussie footy.

Hate to be (too) critical but a Principal with THAT kind of formatting just misses a bit for me given the content :P It is an internet forum afterall I guess.

Changing teams - not an option!

Agree with your second point - if a school or business was underperforming the management would be held responsible and if they could not remedy the situation after being counselled - the management would be replaced by a management that could find an answer to the solution.

Goodbye Terry Wallace and Co.

Changing teams? I live in South Australia, always have. Many of my friends now support The Crows, some The Power. For those that have only followed footy in recent times, fine. For those that "supported" other teams, then swapped to an Adelaide team because the Crows were born - I have no time for them. Many of my friends tried to coerce me to the dark side when the Crows came into the league. "They're South Australian, you have to support them" they said. So, after 20+ years of following the Tigers I am supposed to just change my allegiance because of geographical boundaries? My body may be in Adelaide but my heart is at Punt Road. End of story. Go Tiges!

PAIN and suffering is part of the ride , but bloody hell the suffering has exploded to 27 years with many side shows of extra pain thrown in, i,m not talking premierships, just to be in the 8 a couple of consecutive years, not been the undisputed laughing stock of the footy world

This sheila is obvoiusly an underhanded woman to steal this poor mans password and post such scurrilous drivel here. :police:

Gold1 it's time for a divorce ol'mate. :flush

But be very careful she may be a closet scum supporter with a plan to draw you from the true path. >:D

Guys - this 'post' is clearly a p_ss-take :clap

a. Using the term 'school principal' and leadership in the same sentence is an oxymoron ;)

b. Heaven forbid if she is a school principal. The content, formatting and sentence structure leave us in no doubt as to why Australian children are graduating as idiots!

c. We only dream that schools ran as well as the RFC. I mean honestly - when was the last time the school system ran as an effective enterprise/business that genuinely responded to the interests of the community or in the best interests of the students. Don't get me started on their inability to fire/reprimand underperforming/incompetent staff (and principals) who are protected by the most archaic militant union in Australia.

Here's hoping your 'partner' sees the light!

.....'run Forrest.........................run'

There is a lot to like in your post SIR.

My first thought too was, "this person claims to be a school Principal?". The school analogy is a gee-up. The Principal would just be sent off to another school to reek havoc there instead, and again and again and again................................
