PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Hello Pre people,
I have watched my long suffering husband tolerate Richmonds many defeats over the years. As a person who has never been interested in football, in fact the first match I went to was with my said husband to a grand final no less, (I found the intermission the most exciting part of the event - I enjoyed the balloons and the visit to the food courts), I have learned much from his many, understandable tirades against Richmonds' performance. I have on numerous occasions suggested that he barrack for someone else, this team is after all not performing particularly well, and if one of his sub contractors did the same he would sack them immediately, but having discovered today that Richmonds' performance over the past 5 years has not seen the team score higher than ninth place on the ladder, I suggested that it is clear that the leader, ie the coach, should be removed. In my business (I am prin of a large primary school), a school with such results would be considered under performing, and the schools leadership would be seen as having a responsibility. Contracts would not be renewed. The worst effect of such results is on the culture of the school. students, teachers and importantly, the community, see the school as underperforming, and understandably have low expectations for the future. These low expectations are damaging for a school, a business, or I suggest, for a football team. Isn't it time?
