In the most recent "Encyclopedia of AFL Footballers", there is what appears to be a correct entry for Richmond's Andrew Krakouer.
Immediately before it, there is another one, for an "Andrew Krakouer" who played 8 games for North Melbourne in 1989-90. It says he was from West Meadows, and makes no mention of whether he is or isn't related to the Krakouers we know of.
I can't remember such a player. Is he related? Or is this a misprint and it should be some other name I wonder.

Anyone know anything about this guy?

Krakaroo?

With my slow dodgy connection it's quicker to ask on here than to do a search.

Was our Andrew a Roo at any stage?  I didn't think he was but my son was given a magnificent print of a collage of events in North's history that has all players who've ever pulled on a guernsey for North listed around the edge and there's an Andrew Krakouer mentioned.

Does anyone know what rellie he is, if any,  to our Andy?

Re: Krakaroo?

Don't believe our Andrew ever was. Sounds more like a vision of the future to me. ;D

Re: Krakaroo?

Have got vague recollection of another Andrew Krakouer being around maybe in the early 90's, i'm sure some of the other nerds around PRE will be able to clarify ;D

Re: Krakaroo?

He has an Uncle called 'Andrew' who was younger and less gifted than the famour brothers Phil and Jim. I know he played for Sandringham in the VFA, not sure if he got a few games at North.

Re: Krakaroo?

No this Andrew Krakouer was at North in the late eighties/early ninties, he is a cousin from memory. He is also went to St.Kilda though I dont know if he played a game.
My 2 younger brothers are Saints fans, so we went to Moorabin to watch training, we actually ended up getting A.K mkI's autograph. Hence why I remember him.
Same night Plugger needed to relieve himself & proceeded to urinate right on the boundary fence where we were watching training from & my youngest brother who was about 8 or 9 asked him for his autograph as he was just finishing up!
Nothing compares to the days of suburban footy!

Re: Krakaroo?

I thought he was the 3rd brother but a cousin to Jim and Phil is probably correct!

Re: Krakaroo?

Memory tells me there was a younger brother of Jim and Phil whose career was cut short when he died tragically. Car accident? Work-place injury? Something along those lines. Can't remember.

Re: Krakaroo?

Andrew Krakouer MK 1 was the younger brother of Phil and Jim and I'm pretty sure he didn;t play a senior game with the Roos. He went to Sandy after that.

Actually I think you are right, he wasn't a cousin  I think he was the younger bro.
I saw him at St.K training, but he wasn't training so therefore could have been visiting his bro during his stint at St.Kilda.

I remember watching a Krakouer play in the Under 19's GF in 1985. Is this the Krak you are referring to?
From memory, this may have been the third brother. He is the father of Myles Krakouer.
