Andrew McLeods' 300th game next week

It's not always a fairytale ending for the milestone players.

Can anyone remember Joel's 200th?

claw, imo 46 points will easily be enough to make the 8. infact 46 points might even get us 6th or 7th. i reckon 44 points and a good % will get you 8th. all the teams around us have tricky draws.

OB, how can you forget that lovely keppings off game v The Crows at Telstra Dump when we won by 3 points in 2006 and the Brothers Bowden had 50+ possessions between them ?
;D

Remember that game like it was yesterday :D

Thank god melbourne don't have any senior experienced players left............or have I missed someone? ???

Aaron Davey needs three for 100 (got hurt this week). Nathan Jones needs 4 for 50. Maybe Ben Holland will get up for a "Thanks For The Money" farewell game.

lol @ peeps worrting about playing teams on miletones. A copout.

If we can't beat Adelaide, a team in 6th spot in poor form we don't deserve finals. Simple as that.

Well done to McLeod on reaching 300 games. A fine and fair player.

He plays his 300th game next week v Richmond. Big occasion for the crows. We can expect them to put in their best for 1 of their favourite sons.

Oh and potentially Crawford playing his 300th against as too?

OH CRAP!

Knew I should not look at PRE on a Monday morning after a loss, grrrrrr

Great player McLeod.
Few I have enjoyed watching more.

Here was I thinking this thread was tongue in cheek... ::)

If people are seriously worried about playing teams in milestone games, I withdraw my post.

Adelaide we can beat if we are genuine chance to slip into Top 8. If we can't beat them we don't deserve in no matter what else happens.

Hawthorn will be a tough ask, though we match up ok against them. Certainly not invincible or as intimidating as Geelong no matter how tough they try to play. They already have their finals game with bulldogs sewn up, Bulldogs have announced they will happily be cycling players if need be to keep team fresh. You would have to think Hawthorn would do the same, especially appears the way they do things off field, plan for future rather than tomorrow’s glory.

Not saying they won’t take sides seriously, but they are not going to be too gung-ho I don’t think if there are any lineball decisions to be made. Nothing they do between now and then changes the fact they have a qualifying final against bulldogs in first week of final. Whereas up to now they have been playing some players sore will quite possibly find those players being rested now alternately each week. As I said Bulldogs have stated they will do as much.

Adelaide is the critical game anyway. If we have our full side (Richo. Brown etc) playing and everyone up and firing, I see no reason why we cannot beat them when we are traveling so well this year (3 out of 4 interstate games, against admitably poor opposition but still bolsters confidence for players on road).

Burton’s out, “The Porp” has one arm and half a head if he even plays. Thompson not in his best form 9though will probably return to it against us) Knights is out most likely (which while not a gun hurts their ability to rest genuine midfielders and thus adds to our biggest strength, our run) Players like Moran won’t kick goals every week and Wallace will be setting himself for this one big time. If he can help orchestrate this one he takes massive pressure off himself.

Tiges by 19pts for mine against Adelaide.

i guess if you wanna look at precedents, we knocked off carlton in silvani's 300th game on our way to the finals in 2001
I remember that. And we knocked off Essendon last year in Hird and Sheedy's final games at the G.

If we hadn't given the cats about 13 free goals from our turnovers we would have scared the bejesus out of them. Geelong just smash sides that hand them the ball on a plate.
Would not surprise me at all if we stitch up the Crowbaits. I don't believe they are half as good as some people think they are.
Our biggest problem is using the ball properly, if we can do that we can run most sides.

Excellent Post :clap :clap :clap

It is a VERY BIG problem though TM....has been for years. And the pressure that Geelong put on us really eacerbated the problem. Inability to execute skills under pressure is a massive reason why we are where we are. If the Crows can pressure us to anywhere near the level the Cats did, then it is sure to be an issue again on Sunday in Adelaide.

Yep, we look for a thousand reasons to deny the fact that we may not be good enough.
