I'm here. ;D

Just got home from the Members' Cocktail Party and found this thread.

I've never thought he was going to be the next Dean Cox (carrying Cox in my SC team :( ). I took on his presidency this year after being impressed with his 2 games in 2007, the Rawlings reports on him in EOTT towards the end of 2008 and some comments on him here from people who were able to get to the Coburg games. Really pleased with his showing earlier this year so I stared his official president thread.

I agree his latest games after his return from injury leave a bit to be desired but I still feel we need to persevere with Gus at least in 2010. Rotate him with Browne , Vickery, Putt and Simmonds. Incidentally Troy said to me last night that he thought he wasn't far away from a recall to the senior side.

Did you ask Simmonds about his holiday plans for 2010?

You indicate you are not trying to use the stats to support your point and then you do that very thing by saying the stats are pretty similar? Don't look at the raw data without loooking at their impact on the game

Where did I indicate that? L2R2R suggested that going by his stats Graham should be doing more. Why wouldn't I use stats in response?

You threw the name up in the Graham discussion, not me.

If you throw it up I am not sure you can come with out "stuff like this that loses me".

It was saying Graham "cannot even tie his boots together" that I didn't like. To me it's just negativity for negativity's sake rather than any type of rational discussion.

And you're right, I brought Kruezer up. I thought I inferred that he was well ahead of Angus initially too. In no way did I try and say they were close. Clearly a kid who's 2 years younger and averaging better stats that everyone rates is a long way in front of Graham.

He will be in the top 5 ruckmen in the league, but not No.1. I think Kruezer will be very good, but Nicnat and Leunberger are going to be the best going round for some time.

This is a massive call. I can't believe the willingness of people to give plaudits to NicNat so early. Like no other position in footy "slow and steady" is never more true than in the ruck. Angus is a big body that has shown the willingness to work hard at his game and his fitness. May not make a #1 ruck. But it's way too early to make the call on him or NicNat or Kreuzer. Time will tell.....and each of these blokes still has plenty of it on his side.

We'll see.

Rucks smucks........Only 2 types of Rucks guns like Cox and then big hard angry types that would eat there grandma's toenails

Good work Batman, great to see you still looking out for Gotham. ;)

I would go as far as saying their are only one type. That's the toe nail eaters.

The rest can swan around looking as pretty as they like, but they will only ever be oversized flankers. Premierships sides are littered with the big angry types.

Graham nearly has the size to compete with Hudson and Minson. Richmond need to find out if he as the desire.
