Annual pre season guide?

If you are talking about the guide that includes a profile on every current player, draft history & just about anything else you can think of, it is already out. I saw a copy of it today at a newsagency, it has Judd on the cover I think, but it may have been Cousins as they usually put the reigning Brownlow medallist on the cover.
A great publication.

there's been a good little pocket edition stuck to the NAB cup record for the last two years

i hope they keep that one going...contact michael lovett at AFL headquarters or go to Docklands on the 25th and get one.

Apparently that came out today at Newsagents everywhere, Might go down tomorrow and buy 1

I love the Annual pocket addition of the players etc.

Each year I write in who gets injured, when, who wins the GF and who gets the spoon.

It is good, 'cause you never know who we will get in the draft and you can go way back and see how they have played for their previous club if you don't know much about them.

Comes with the pre-season edition of the AFL Record (the footy record itself is noticeably thinner this year).

$7 at your local newsagency.

At first I walked straight past it as they put it in a different area than usual.

The book is thinner I think because of the layout, two columns, instead of one. Also of note, I did not see any photos in the Richmond section, they could have at least had a pic of Delids or Bowden.

The text, from what I have read so far, is pretty much the same as what is on the website (all clubs) for each player profile, but it is easier and quicker than logging on to the net to find it.

I like to read it to get an overall view of all the teams and players. Although, I am not sure how accurate it is. Adelaide and Brisbane have nearly all of their statistics are the same except their weight (I think), so either the stats are wrong or it is freaky!

(When I say statistics, it is like their players average age, weeight, height etc.)

I suppose it is not a must have but it is good.

I glanced through it in the newsagency yesterday but decided there wasn't anything there I simply had to read in full.  The stats are all on the net and the Footy Record appeared very thin on content (and pages).  I didn't buy it, $7 seemed a ripoff to me. Pity it didn't include free or discounted tickets like it used to.

If Inside Football is out today I'll check it out too and probably buy it.

Thanks Rosy, I think I will give the footy record a miss also.

This is where I step in an suggest that you may like to purchase Champion Data's AFL prospectus. This was produced by our own football dudes and they watch every match every year. They go to junior carnivals and keep an eye on up and coming talent. They know their football (but I can't let them know that as office politics dictates that us geeks know just as much regardless of what they say).

To have a look at some sample pages go to http://www.championdata.com.au/prospectus.html.

If you're interested in buying a copy, either do it online or go to your newagency or bookstore. Harrass them to get you a copy as it'll be cheaper than buying it online.

Do it, and keep me employed ;)

Yippeee!

Today my beautiful better half came in from shopping and as a suprise gave me the Footy record with attached AFL season preview footy book. What a gal. :clap.

Now i've got three 2004, 5, 6. I hope they keep bringing them out. I find them handy and concise documents of the footy season.
