I don't care whether you get the number 1 pick, a priority pick, first pick in the preseason draft...etc..........................

Wooden spoons are for the worst of the worst and although that is almost what we are right now (it's neck and neck with Carlton), I am ashamed to think we will take another spoon and take some more high draft picks and completely ruin their careers.

A football team that has virtually no leadership on the field and hardly any guiding it's youngsters.

Stick your high draft picks Terry and Greg, you don't know what to do with them.

Obviously u don't buy that Terry is searching for the next win and has no interest in a bottom finish. I don't share that cynicism...............

The good thing is we don't have to deliberately tank.

ANd we can another 2 and still get the priority pick.

Why can I see myself waking up at 10am in the morning, looking forward to listening to the draft. Wallace has announced a week before, he'll take Kreuzer. Im all excited.

Pick 1 comes, Miller goes on his microphone, says blahaha player # 02345, Cyril Rioli.

Why can I see that happening? Jarrod Oakley Nicholls style.

Frank will have control of the microphone if last year is anything to go by.

It's not the disgrace it used to be, now that you get rewarded for it.

Unfortunetly , your right LTRTR..........................but to me it will always have that one unfailing distinction and stigma attatched to it ................."Worst of the Worst"

How many spoons will this be ? Is it a milestone spoon?

This is out 4th spoon in 21 years and I'm embarrassed. For the first time I am going to the football and feeling truly humiliated (I know hard to believe given the last 25 years) - but 1 win!!! What if end up on 1 win - that would be outrageous - for a club like Richmond to have that! - At least in our other spoon years we won 4, 5 and 5 games. Come on - a couple of wins please! No more humiliating 'records'.

The spoon is a disgrace, and nobody is accountable - as a paying member, I feel like nobody at the club even cares any more.

They care when it is time for people to buy memberships, if we don't get them our club will eventually fold, no one can put up with what we have forever.

P.S. I am sick of hollow wins. We need to win when it counts. Although in saying that, I still want us to win this week. And next week. And the week after. I am sick of losing.

I'm sure Steven Wright is putting his budget together for 2008 expecting a membership drop.

Nothing can match the humiliation of the spoon, I am constantly amazed that supporters think its a good thing due to higher draft picks - why is it that other clubs can rebuild without bottoming out like some supporters are promoting - I for one am praying that we can somehow get a couple more wins and get off the bottom - draft picks be stuffed!

if you look closely most succesful clubs have bottomed out to play regular finals footy. the difference between those clubs and us is plenty of good people in recruiting and good list management. i can still hear ferals praising the wallace style of football when he first came. i can still hear ferals saying you dont need kpp or big bodied onballers. ah how time changes things.

there are plenty of good models out there to try and emulate its about time we did.

let me add theres no disgrace in winning a spoon if the club is heading in the right direction. people just have to ask themselves where the list is truly at. imo we are in the early stages of rebuild winning games is not important its the development of our list that is. although it is nice to win games

there are three areas that need adressing urgently. we have all spoken about them. kpp we have few of quality and we have few. ruckmen we have just 2 and one of them is continuously injured. and finally inside onballers who can hurt opposition sides with pace and skill.

imo the ruckmen and kpp should get priority for one simple reason they take a lot longer to develop.
thats not to say we should not take say cotchin an onballer with our first pick if we consider him best available. but clearly with i hope at least 7 picks 4 or 5 are used on kpp ruckmen this yr.
