I hope this will answer everybody's questions about the order of draft picks.

Currently, the situation is like this.

North Melbourne - 4.5 wins (No priority)
West Coast - 4 wins (Lose their 1st round priority pick if they win 1 more or draw 1)
Richmond - 3.5 wins (Lose our 2nd round priority pick if we win 1. If we draw once, we still get the priority, but may lose pick #1 depending on other results)
Melbourne - 3 wins (Lose their 1st round priority pick if they win 2 more, or win 1 and draw 1)
Fremantle - 3 wins (Lose their 2nd round priority pick if they win 2 more, or win 1 and draw 1)

Winnable games for each of the bottom 4 clubs:

West Coast - Fremantle, North Melbourne, Richmond (All at Subiaco)
Richmond - Melbourne, Sydney, West Coast (MCG, MCG, Subiaco)
Melbourne - Sydney, Richmond, North Melbourne, Fremantle (Manuka, MCG, Etihad, MCG)
Fremantle - West Coast, Port Adelaide, Melbourne (Subiaco, Subiaco, MCG)

I've bolded the teams that the teams on the left will probably beat if Richmond really does want the #1 pick and the 2nd round priority pick.

Once again, I hope this helped. ;D

Priority Pick Clarification Please

Just a quick one, reading the posts on here it seems that if we get above 16 points we cant get the priority pick, but the game review on heraldsun webiste states that tanking theorists would be happy because NM can still get a PP and Richmond can still win another game? Just a mistake on their behalf??

Re: Priority Pick Clarification Please

From the AFL Record Season Guide 2009:

From 2006, any club that has 16 premiership points or less at the end of the home and away season is entitled to one priority draft selection (before round two) at the NAB AFL Draft.

Priority pick?

Can someone tidy something up for me and confirm whether the draw affected our chances of a priority pick or if we have to win 5 games to miss out not 4 1/2

I thought anything over 4 wins was the cut off but Gerard Healey said on On the Couch the other night he thinks the draw basically counted for nothing

Re: Priority pick?

Healy's wrong. Anything over 16.5 premierships points misses out.

They have one draw left up their collective sleeve over six weeks. Will they use it wisely?

Well done to everyone who has contributed to making the position clear.

We wouldn't want our club to make a dire long term error.
