Richmond and Collingwood may be long-time fierce rivals, but they have joined forces to assist the family of former player Jamie Tape, who died in January at age 28.

All proceeds raised from the match-day raffle on Friday night, and from the return encounter between the two teams in Round 16, will go into a special Trust Fund for Jamie's one-year-old son, Thomas.

Raffle ticket sellers will be dressed in both Richmond and Collingwood jumpers and fans can buy tickets at various locations inside the ground (including corporate boxes and function rooms).

The Tape family - Jamie's wife Kelly, son Thomas, parents Peter and Kathy and brother Simon - will be special guests of both clubs at Friday's season-opener.

Richmond and Collingwood players will wear black armbands as a mark of respect for the brave, popular Tape, who played 75 games for the Tigers from 1994-97, and then 16 games with the Magpies after leaving Punt Road.
