Are our midfielders dumb or ignorant?

Its not only being prepared to run forward, but being prepared to run back and knowing when to do so. So many times we have players flying into a position where they are not needed instead of running into space to create another option.

Also when kicking into the forward line its hard to not kick it to Richo, think, who would you rather kick to, although, North are always onto this when we play them. Thats probably why its best we used Richo further up the ground against a team like this and left the i50 marks to go to Brown or Shulz.

Dumb unskillfull midfielders kicking under pressure to a lazy forward line that doesn't work as a unit and is only intrested in getting a kick and not creating space or taking their man away from the ball to leave somebody one out.

Correct. A team of selfish footballers who don't work anywhere near hard enough. A hard working team like North exposes this big time.

Dumb? Ignorant? Neither is my guess.

I'd say confused.

Confused by coaches who over-analyse game tactics and expect players to stick to game plans when the situation doesn't allow it.

Confused by coaches who play them in 15 positions during the one game and expect them to be accountable for everything the opposition does, while not being able to be accountable for their own roles.

Confused by coaches who drag them off 2 minutes into the game - before they've even had the chance to get their hands on the ball or work out what their direct opponent is up to.

Confused by coaches who tell them they'll get a game if they do the right things, yet get left languishing in the magoos while overhyped, overpaid past-its get their backsides towelled week after week.

Confused by coaches who keep saying the team is on track yet shows little sign of improvement from year to year.

Confused by the Burmuda triangle that exists around Punt Road that sucks in, chews up and spits out any young kids that show any potential.

And finally, confused by umpires that change their minds from one decision to the next as to what actually constitutes a free kick and which type it is. It's a lottery every time the whistle blows.

i mentioned this in another thread - before the Nth game, Frawley was talking about Richo and said the most frustrating thing about Richo is that he constantly goes where he's not meant to go - stuffs up the whole forward structure as the smalls never know where he'll be and the other leaders who try sticking to a game plan end up being closed off - becomes a game of second guessing for our own forwards.

richo also has to understand he can be as much help to the side by taking 3 palyers out of the game and opening up the corridor for someone else but i think it's to late for that - it's exactly what Nth did to us by uisng jones & grant as the the go to's.

Frawley fails to mention that if he had rounded up a decent midfield then Richo wouldn't have to go to all ends of the globe chasing a kick

The days richo really leaves home is when our mids are getting carved up and on the few occasions we enter 50 it's a bouncing ball running towards the boundary on the flank with Richo in hot pursuit.

And this is different from other clubs how?
