No one said its dying, its being sanitised for soccer mums and as sterile as its become, its still our No1 sport.

Doesn't mean its a better game than its ever been.

I reckon those websites in the 70s were great JB, don't you? ;D

They were great. Poor old Percy pigeon had trouble finding his way to fellow Tiger feral households on occassion but always seem to make it back. He was shattered when I finally bought a Tandy and his poor old heart gave out when I upgraded to a Commodore 64 - he knew his usefulness was over.

BTW, has anyone actually met a 'soccer mum', or at least know of one?

Sure we have no doubt changed the rules more than any other major sproting code but it goes with the evolvement of the game.
Nope, I think the award for the most tampering of the rules, and in a way that significantly alters the game, belongs to Rugby Union.

I stand corrected Blue Bayou. I'm not a Union devotee so wouldn't really know but thanks.

Let an Aussie run the game, not a Greek.

Excuse me? ::)

This guy did at least play the game at the top level. I may not agree with some of the things done by the AFL, but that is a ridiculous statement.

I'm surprised that you're surprised Jools. RJ is always good for a racist statement or three.
