i read the david ryhs-jones article today and i am glad former players are coming out and standing up to the crap we have to watch today.
i was at the game on the weekend and i was thinking while watching the 5th consecutive free kick awarded to sydney in the same passage of play that the game is not decided by team talent and ability it is decided by umpiring decisions, if you get a day where you will get 60% + free kicks you will win the game.
and this game were are witnessing now will continue to get worse until a real football fan is calling the shots, demitriou may have done a good job with the money side of things (he has the game healthy with financial backing may be because of the markup of ticket sales or $5 we pay for a hot dog week in week out) but other than that its a disgrace. fans are becoming bemused with the state of the game.
The free flowing, exciting, breath taking game we grew up with has become a start stop netball prototype that is just played on a bigger field. in a matter of years the game we all loved....

the real game................GONE!!!
and i am a firm believer that if the one eyebrowed man and his cronies are still in 'power' in the next couple of years the game will only get worse. hell i would work for 1/10th of what demitriou is getting to take charge of the afl and get OUR game back.
