PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I am now getting to the point of frustration with the media with its collective condecending attitude with Richmond this season. Its not merely that no one ever picks us,its the way the journos are always finding excuses for whoever we beat.
The win in Brisbane was seen as a 'crumbling empire' now in tatters....maybe there not that bad after all now the lions but because it was the Tiges...no credit given.
Carlton were supposedly inaccurate and Essendon undermanned, even though we had as many if not more out than they did!!
The win against Adelaide was a masterstroke of coaching and should have been lauded as such......but no, we copped some ridiculously unfair criticism for not only beating but mastering an equally drab and unsightly flood by Adelaide. At least Neil Craig was gracious in defeat, even if the press racked up a bizarre witch-hunt on Wallace and the players for what was a grant result for us.
Even this week winning away against a so called flag fancy only 6 weeks ago we only get tepid praise ( I did read Rohan Connellys article which was somewhat positive) but I'm still reading and hearing how its a Geelong 'crisis' more often than how Richmond have improved.
We have had our Captain out for a few weeks, Vice Captains in Gaspar Brown missing for many weeks, and key structural players in Schulz and Thursfield missing nearly all season, so where's our praise/excuses by these hacks??
Im sure they believe the real Richmond is the one thats copped two almighty floggings.
If nothing else the winning feeling is even more enjoyable knowing the media are running out of reasons to ignore our progressive young list, and a smart switched on coach finally at the helm of RFC.
