Are we a modern football club......

Cant disagree with any of that King. However, right now, I'd be purely focussing on our core product - that's football.
The business opportunities and the professionalism, stems from the Brand. ;)

Agreed but even if the Pies or the Bombers we not winning they would still be working hard off the field to shore up the club.

The answer is obviously a resounding no.

I'm willing just to settle for a competative recruiting staff. It's the most cost effective way we can bridge the 'gap'

Can't wait to see how the revamped recruiting department is set up.

Could be a massive step in the right direction if done right.

I am confident too but how far behind the Collingwood's and Essendon's are we? I would not even bother comparing us to the Eagles & Crows of the world.

Maybe the club/supporters never fully understood how far behind we were. Maybe this is the year we understand the battle ahead and how long it will take us to become a force.

Things like the bird poo cupboards that Wallace got moved and the fresh set of paint are a start I suppose. I have been in the Lexus centre and that was about the time I began to see how far our historical handicap was and how far we have to move just to get on par with the Blockbuster Clubs.

Collingwood, in their player list, is where we were 2 years ago. They've recently introduced their Thomas, Pendlebury & others.
But look at Wakelin, Prestigiacomo, Buckley, Burns, Clement, Licuria, O'Bree & Rocca - all around 30 in the twilight zone.
Where will they be when they lose 8 of their senior list?

Essendon the same.
Look at Hird, Fletcher, the Johnsons, Lloyd, Lucas, Michael & Heffernan - all in the twilight zone.
Where will they be when they lose 8 of their senior list?

Yes, I like the bird poo/clean out phase 2 analogy.
And we have the commencement near the end of the year on tear down of the old Social Club and the building of our new state of the art facilities.

There's alot going ahead.

So the ice is still melting Phanto?
Whats our rate of Entropy?

Ha!!
Well done again Skills.

Sher's dad will bear me out on this.
At the last Club80 meeting I told him that the whole RFC had started 2007 in a COASTING fashion, as if it was just going to happen.

The first half a dozen rounds of this year, in retrospect, is a Godsend.

For the first time I'm hearing the Tiger supporters on mass ask questions about the direction of our last 2-3 years recruiting.

For the first time I'm hearing the Tiger supporters on mass ask questions about our senior players.

Our energy rate has gone from tepid to almost overheating in the space of a few weeks.

Again, I'm excited!

good post!

Greg Miller is quoted with the following;

"He probably came back a bit too early after surgery and he's been pretty sore for a couple of weeks," Miller said. "He's not going to be out long term.

This was in reference to Troy Simmonds. Sounds very much like the Nathan Brown caseto me.

We have mismanaged our two best resources on the park through pure mismanagement of injury rehabilitation.

I went to watch training on Good Friday and Simmo stayed out to do some work on his own with some of the coaches...my observation was that he could hardly move, he would have been going at about 50%, not really testing out his ankle at all....he didn't sprint, he didn't jump and land....I thought at the time there is no way he would be right for the Collingwood game, but he did play....wonder if he's been having injections to play....

Here's a few other injury questions this year....

Knobel ankle - not sure what happened here, he obviously missed most of last year with it but was there an actual incident where he did it again this year....I'd been hearing he'd been having problems with it before he was put on the injured list again

Hartigan foot - Broke his foot last year, stress fracture of foot now...is it the same foot ?

Coughlan knee - very strange that the original release basically blamed the surgeon because the repair hadn't healed properly....next day we're told he slipped in the shower :confused

Thursfield knee - he did it in Round 2 last year and still isn't back in the seniors....look at Didak now

Brown leg - well documented

Peterson (op) /Hall (hip) - who knows what's going on there....they just seem to be always on the injured list

Playing list wise I agree with your thoughts.

I mean how far behind the Collingwood's and Essendon's are we off the gorund.

My fault.
