Are we really headed in the right direction?

I will just place my glasses(they are a lovely rose colour) down for a second.I really do like the way the club is heading on field,We are starting to see guys who have debuted in the past few seasons such as Cogs,Newman,Petts,Hyde look like becoming 100 gamers. Then we have our next tear of more recent draftees who are looking more and more like becoming good senior players such as Harts,Rainsey,Lids,Tambling and co,We then seem to be forming another shelf of good young players who are vying for senior selection each week who get a taste of what its like, then go back and dominate at Vfl level and slowly but surley will become regulars at senior level.I like the fact that youngsters are getting rotated through the seniors till they demand there spot, good balance in the learning of the speed of senior football and the game time  and responsability at Vfl level.Would just love to see us draft a champion CHB this year but wouldnt all clubs.

Jury is still out for mine. But it's obviously a vaste improvement on what Spud was up to.

The thing I'd really like to see in the next couple of drafts is when it comes to our pick,we take the  best 'footballer'.Not the quickest,or the highest leaper or the the best in one area.

Red and I have discussed this numerous times.Get players that at a bare minimum capable in all facets of football.
A prime example is overlooking Hurn and Drum in last years draft for Oakley-N.And before jumps on me,no I'm not saying they will diffinently be better players than JON.

If we want an athlete or player strong in one area(eg inside midfielder),by all means take them later in the draft. But with 1st and 2nd rounders, I beg that our footy department take complete footballers.

Also, accurate disposal by foot is THE most important facet in todays football in my view.I hope this kept in mind.

Amen to all that Evo.
The poor footskills from our guys is disturbing.Redford asked me at one match how many West coast players could I name that can't dispose of the ball properly.
I couldn't name many.
The same with the Crows. These clubs have loads of money to spend on recruitment and also development of their juniors.
The jury will be out until we can be rid of poor disposal and get the list structure and development right.
Not having the wedge to pay 100% of the cap is also robbing us of quality players too,so the offield management is so critical to our wellbeing as a club.
Lets hope thats heading the right way too.

PS.....Sterling topic Patsy :clap

Jury is still out for me too.

Yes, we are definitely TRYING to “head in the right direction” and yes we are infinitely better off under the TW regime as opposed to that nuffer Spud’s. But its one thing to be picking a direction – its another to be implementing the right actions to get to your destination.

Some actions the last couple of years I like…some I don’t.

Its the ‘ol PRE saying I guess: time will tell.

Definitely headed in the right direction.

Some astute drafting at the end of the year and we will well and truly be on track.

I pay good money to go to the football, not to see duds get flogged by 20 goals week in week out.
Its laughable to be flogged by so much.
People say Carlton and Essendon are basket cases, but they arent flogged by that much.
In fact what clubs have been flogged by 20 goals in recent years, like Richmond have.
If they want to keep repeating those sort of performances for the rest of this year and next, the club will be relocating North!!!!
Because membership will plummit!!!
And didnt Wallace promise after round 1, there would be no repeat performances of the Bulldogs fiasco!!!!
What will happen if it happens a few more times this year!!!
Laughable!!!

Any thoughts from the weekend diggler?

Id rather they talk about the tigers ad nauseum after a win, even though it was as ugly as a female feral after a night on the turps, and not a public dissection after another flogging!!!!

No, Im not having a bad day thankyou.
I just find it amazing that people are so accepting of these debacles.
To be beaten by 20 goals twice in 7 weeks, is amatuerish!!!

Reasonable statement Diggler and the debate following has been interesting.
My contribution is simple - it may not be acceptable but so what - its happened.
A few things - I don't believe the thrashings are the coach's fault - Wallaces' game day ability is obvious - take Saturday.

So that means it is the players. So we obviously need new ones or improve the one's we have got. In the last two years our recuitment has been reasonable IMO, and for the first time in a verrry long time - junior players are improving! Thursfield / Tuck / Polo / Raines hell even Pettifer and Hall.

There are some good signs, amidst the floggings, something good is happening and it is because good football coaches want to work with Wallace. The fact that Coburg is winning is also a good thing.
