No sorrow there for the Blues. All year I was happy that the Bombers were going to win the Wooden Spoon, but now that it's the Blues things are even better.
I loath and despise them more than any other. But I do want them to get off the bottom of the ladder. I want them in a never-never land somewhere in the mid-reaches of the table, where they don't get one of the absolute top picks (or worst still a priority pick) to build upon and get excited over. And nor do they have a team that can seriously contend for finals glory come September and they know it (assuming they can just squeeze in enough victories to make it to the final eight). Give me a few decades of that for the Bluebaggers and I'll be more than satisified...

Remember Carlton helped us with a Legends game when we were down in 1990 during the Save Our Skins campaign. I am not sure how much it raised but every $ was valuable back then.
Do I feel sorry for them? No. Do I despise them, of course. I remember their fans in the outer pushing me off my crutches (ankle injury) in the outer at Princes Park in 1983 in response to my supporting Richmond and particularly M. Rioli. I also remember 1982......arrgh.
However a similar game was organised now to help them I would attend and contribute to their recovery.
They're a true club not a fake amalgamation such as Adelaide or West Coast who as much personality as BHP or Coles Myer.
