No I’m not. If I went up to you and threatened incarceration if you didn’t pay me tax, then I’d be committing a crime, but apparently when the government does it, it is all good. You are the one that seeks to re-define theft as tax. Law should apply equally to all people. What we have today are laws for some (private people) and laws for others (politicians).
If you read through the previous posts you would have seen that law would still exist. Private law would be substituted for statutory law. Have a read.

who would write the laws?
if i dont agree with the law, wouldnt punishing me for breaking it just be committing another crime? noone could force me to pay any compensation, that would be theft. noone could imprison me, that would be kidnap.

i probably have read your previous posts. im guessing they made as little sense then as they will now.

Yes. If you want me to elaborate on that then you're best served by expanding your reading. I recommend "the structure of liberty" by Randy Barnett and "The economics and ethics of private property" by Hans-Hermann Hoppe. This article by the latter provides a good summary of how a private law society would work: https://mises.org/library/state-or-private-law-society

Also Stephen Kinsella has some good youtube videos about private law.

This is an important question G. Where did the "property" come from to begin with? How did individuals come to "own" it?

The courts came up with the concept.

We shouldn't be giving the government ideas. They might just put an expiry on ALL cash currency. Use it or lose it unless you exchange it at a bank. Just like bank accounts and superannuation which they can steal if you haven't accessed them in a while. Of course, they say you can get it back by jumping through hoops and minus any interest you might have earned in the time since it was stolen.

Which reminds me, I need to go chasing after my super as I haven't heard from them in a while.

The authoritarians have been at this for the last 10 years. They will not stop. Why would they? Everytime they propose a new big brother law, they are met with wet lettuces from the populace, the opposition and the media.

Yep. Govt pushes pension age out from 65 to 67 ( they've temp parked the 70 it was working towards ) n it's crickets chirping in the dark in OZ. Macrobiotic tries to raise the French pension age from 62 to 64 n it's farkin riots in the street.
People complain about the nanny state in Australia, but every time a state or fed govt puts up a new big brother law we simply bend over n ask them how far they'd like to insert the probe. More like forty years of bbl's not ten.

This where I was going with my comment. The surveillance state is a monster and just keeps growing. No idea how you remedy it but I'm sure having pollies who never mention it isn't the way.

There goes Holden in 2021.

Geez what's left in this country.
Tiger flags, climate change, fires, floods, drought, the greens, gender inequality, sports funding, racism, fascism, socialism, democracy, the ABC.
Theres still plenty to whinge or laugh about just depends how you look at it.

Apparently goods becoming cheaper is terrible for the economy! You can safely ignore people that spout such nonsense.

Why is it nonsense? I thought the author was just illustrating ”cause and effect”?
