Just returned from a heavenly 6 weeks on the Sunshine Coast. AFL.....what's that up there???? Brisbane gets a few TV comments here and there, and there is no Friday night game until the "death" hours of the night as a replay. Melbourne papers do find their way to this area roughly about midday, but on a Saturday there are no reports of the Friday night game in the Sun, as it must be an early edition.
The papers up here only report on Brisbane, and very little at that. It is an AFL desert in Qld. Put another team up here??? Why??? There would have to be a huge shift in media interest for that team to be successful...IMHO.
BTW, is Richmond playing today or are Essendon the only team to take the G?? Can't find any preview or comments about us in the Sun today, but "God" Sheedy and the Umpie's love child, Hirdy, have about 40,000 pages devoted to them. Hope James Baby does not sneeze today or he will get yet another free kick. Whilst I'm about whingeing, how many swan dives will you know who, take today???
All in all, it's good to be back, sort of, as we miss the lovely warm weather....apart from the flooding and rain on Wednesday and Thursday, but I no complain. Last comment for today....have a squizz at the enormous gap in frees for the Mudpies against the Swannies, yesterday. The love of my life, she is now a Tiger fan through and through, has jumped on the Essendon and Collingwood bandwagon of the biased umpires. "They love those two teams," is her opinion.
