Having been away for 8 weeks up north in Qld., it is a shock to the system to come home to this cold weather.
So hard to get any AFL news up there. NRL rules the roost and I suppose that is fine and dandy if you are a banana bender. I do feel for those poor unfortunate Qld. Tiger supporters though. If there was a snippet of AFL news on the sports segment, it was only a tad about the Lions...otherwise zilch.
The Melb. papers do arrive about lunch time, but bad luck if the game was a night game the previous night. Nothing!!! The Herald Sun has to be an early edition.
As for our efforts in the last two games. Never expected to defeat the Cats, but did not expect a 10 goal drubbing. Then, of course, another shellacking by Adelaide. Oh dear, another year of no finals. One can hope for 2009 now, with the young players putting on some muscle and weight to throw around. There is always hope, and we at Tiger land have heaps of it, and have done so for over 20 years.
