Bad luck with trades

How can you say that Nathan Brown should not have been recruited?? :-\
Quite easily.

He should not have been recruited.

1 gun in a crap team with a crap coach, what a waste of time effort and money.

General, I hear you, but they all weren't failures.

Do you recall Greg Stafford, Leon Cameron, Paul Broderick, Michael Gale ???

Some very good players and loved by supporters!

Really? Cotchin, Delidio, Tambling, Foley, Reiwoldt, Thursty, Moore - Need i continue?
You can add Matt White in there as well and talking about decent trades what about Morton for pick 35? Tuck was also a decent draft pick up for a recycled player.

The biggest mistake we can make as a club now is to start topping up with mature age recruits because we think we are there!

Look at the Saints! They thought they were there 4 years ago and started recruiting mature age players in place of youth - that includes the likes of Rix who despite being mature age, hadn't played a senior game. They now find their whole youth rebuild of a few years ago basically wasted as there is no real depth of talent coming up under the 24 - 26 year olds. They are starting to get a list age gap that we have had to deal with.

The worst part of this is that as a club realises time is running out, they become like a gambler trying to win back losses, and they seek the quick fix to a greater extent!

StKilda are the epitomy of VFL / AFL failure! One flag, and the most wooden spoons! Who else could raid so many drafts and have such a clutz of an admin to waste the talent!

Yep and the Bulldogs look like making exactly the same mistake. This is why we need an exceptionally strong hand on List Mgt with the power to override Wallace.

They also recruited hamill and the G train which fast tracked there side into the finals. with the side they had then they should have won a premiership, but didn't. They got the team right but the coach wrong.
