Freo were ,we are the worst now.

I'd have to agree. I think they have stuffed up better picks which is intrinsically a more difficult thing to achieve but for sheer quantity of crappy trades/recruits we are right up there with the worst of them and our twenty year low is a reflection of this superlative achievement.

For trading it would have to be Fremantle.

For drafting I think we rate right up there as one of the worst.

sorry fellow posters the type of trade i was refering to was the trading of players who had injuries, health or attitude problems.
the end result being a poor re*smile* for the club the were traded to. or at least issues to be dealt with.

e.g. nathan thompson depression . while his issue has been well managed by the roos the hawks knew of the problem during the trade and said nothing. jonathan hay the same.

Thompson's depression was talked about on the footy show prior to him being traded. Hawks did pump up Hay's stats before trading him, but I wouldn't have thought they would be allowed to tell the Roos of his medical condition even if for some absurd reason they should want to. I wouldn't have thought that the Kangaroos publicly shaming Hay then cutting him from the list has been managing Hay's depression well.

Collingwood and Port are notorious to deal with in terms of trying to get a reasonable deal completed, Hawks are bad but if you wait to the last minute a deal always seems to be done.

Freo are patsies, they are the only club that almost gaurantees a win when trading.

Geelong, Melbourne, Carlton and West Coast seem to be alright. Adelaide and the Swans used to be great clubs to get rid of players for draft picks although I reckon they have tightened up in the last year or two.

I reckon we have a pretty good reputation as a club although Miller was thought to be a bottom feeding scumbag when he was at the Roos, I reckon the Rodan experience may have done us more good than harm, if other clubs believe that we are not cultivating our talent correctly then we may get some picks for dead wood.

After our Polak/Riewoldt deal last year I'd have to say our reputation has gone up
not if polak turns out a dud. ben reid anyone or perhaps if selwood slipped to 8.or thorpe. i will say it again down trading top 10 picks is fraught with danger and the wrong way to go. i would have thought most clubs would be shaking their heads at us and saying there those chumps go again.
i know i am. im still waiting for the time when we value our early picks above all else and we put the time and resources into them to make sure we get them right.

We have the title of market leader in this field. Freo are approaching us but they have some pluses.

The Hotel and Bidders for the picks that parlayed into Jude Bolton and David Wojo. That kills me and it was eight years ago.
i think freo are about to make another blunder with ryan murphy. they got that dud tarrant who cant execute under pressure and forced a very promising youngster in murphy out.
