Mind if I use that 'matter of Honour' part as my sig? I'm still laughing!

Feel free. I'm flattered.

On second thoughts I'll get my legal people onto it and get back to you. >:D

our fwds get caught out of position because they lead too early - they are not used to mids that run and carry
still playing in the days of campbell - get slam it on the boot (then you had to lead early)
our fwds need to be more patient or lead shorter, double back and lead again
with the mids carrying the ball it forces defenders to go to them creating space or loose men in the fwd line
what you need is a balance between carriers and early deliverers (this keeps the opposition guessing)
the other attribute the carriers need is to be able to kick goals on the run from outside 50m that means if the defenders dont come out to them they can steady and slot the goal on the run
this will all take time as players need to learn who to lead early to, who to wait for and when to kick/pass/shoot
the sooner we start applying shephards and blocks to protect our ball carrying mids the easier the decision  making and better the skills become (more time)
think how good this could become in 2 - 3 years?????

Actually, this is the best post ever written. Sorry H. :-[ :hihi

The kick ins-

I think you were interested in how the sides managed the kick ins on Wednesday, Rosy.

They seemd to be going man-on-man for most of them. There was no special play, flooding or otherwise by the defending team.

At one stage one of the coaches, can't remember which, was screaming "Zone! Zone!" but nobody took any notice of him.

Think the plan was to keep the plans on the back burner for now.

FWIW I reckon we'll be flooding our half BACK line when THEY kick in. And sagging away from designated receivers (probably loose forwards) when we do. Among other things.

Just got the report from Dad. He said it was a great day and reckons every Tiger supporter in Ballarat was there. He’s a man of few words, said they looked generally sharp, and the old man is a harsh critic when it comes to the Tiges, and that for him, McGuane stood out.

Some of you may have seen him there, extremely good looking, 60-odd, skinny like M. Tuck, glasses and good head of silver hair, and would have been listening to races.

I wasnt there so cant really comment on Rodan 'running too far'; but its meant to be a team game, and the forwards should be familiar with different players style and adjust accordingly... Locket & Dunstall werent sucessfull JUST because they had good delivery: I would have thought that if we have a player who tends to do something a littel different it should be an advantage to us because we would understand his moves better than our opposition
