No doubt what's his name :-X by the coffee stand at Coburg is still pushing for Sheedy.

You sure this mystery man at the coffee stand you are obsessed with was not David Bourke? >:D

I read a week ago that Bartlett wanted Malthouse.

Wish Bartlett would make up his mind.
Bartlett plumped for Malthouse because hes thinking like me we need a Richmond person and up till that time Sheeds hadnt put his hand up. wev had the outsiders it hasnt worked Malthouse will get finals and an extension at the Colliwobbles and Sheeds has now come out and said he wants the job. We need to get the St Kilda,Hawthorn,Footscray North Melb etc people back to their own nest or kennell and get some tooth some tiger back into Richmond some heart and soul. That can only come from the likes of Sheedy Bartlett born raised played lives in Richmond,Hafey,Northey,Jess,McGhie,Bourke,Clay,Lee,Roach,Weightman,Cloke and his boys should be here not with the "enemy". Buckley,Mathews and others are our former "enemies" i dont want em here. I want Tigers. The coaching merry go round has to stop. Sheedy to coach not only the playing group but mentor the next generation of coaches. Richo would be handy in the box in another season and a half full time and temporary now while injured ala Sheedy Hird,Sheedy Harvey. We need a comprehensive plan. Rawlings caretaker Sheeds 2-3 year contract mentoring the likes of Richo Campbell Bond Lambert Paul Hudson is not out of the question successfull at Leongatha and Gippsland Power. Some left of field thinking is needed. Sheeds is the Guru for this...............

I think Sheeds is the perfect fit for us. We pride ourselves on giving people on last chance at resurecting a career.

Cousins, Knoble, Graham, Campbell, Wallace, Howatt, King, JON, P. Bowden, McMahon

Also in that quoted section wasn't Sheedy talking about Super Coach?

I read it couple of times to check the context before posting, and while it is possible it was purely Supercoach banter, that's not how it came across in the article (but maybe I had DD's rose colour glasses on - dunno).

As I said, if I got the context right, it is the first time I've seen the union as a possibility, unlike the union between you and DD, which is shaping up to be bigger than Abbott and Costello ;D

Cousins was a good pickup in fact.

Though it's debatable whether he still is these days, Bartlett was once a "Richmond person" and how did his own coaching career pan out?

Not denying that, but still only gives us a 1 in 10 success rate. And I'm sure I missed out on a heap more we've given one last chance too.

KB, Tommy Hafey, Francis Bourke are a bunch of silly old buggers who think they know whats best for the club. They have no idea and they're only giving their old mate some misguided momentum that is not helping the club.

Firstly, my only interest in Sheedy is as coach of the coaches.

For you to call Kevin, Tommy and Bourkey a bunch of silly old buggers, and your the one disparaging them on the internet, (they at least have put it out there in name), I know who is the real silly bugger.

They, you say are the ones with no idea? They'd have more footy ideas in their pinky than you and I together (and you need to put in more ;D ). They are closer to the game than we will ever be.

Come on, argue on the merit of the ideas, sure, but not by put down of Tiger Legends >:(

Good financially. Handy at best on our list so far. Doubt we'd have been much worse without him. However he'll probably leave a small legacy.

I'd certainly love to have Sheedy as a senior mentor for either Hardwick or Richardson, or both.

If a bloke gets the hard tag and is handy at best, i will take 21 more like him.

21 31 yr olds? Glad you are not the list manager then.

Back to Bartlett. Yes he wanted Malthouse.
I actually agreed with that.

He is 6 years younger than Sheeds and his eyes still burn brightly.
Still heavily involved in the game he continues to get great results out of that Pies list.

Bartlett should of backed his initial thoughts and left it at that.

The only thing I want to know is why KB is pushing through his own agenda with sheeds, Sheed is not the answer. Brian Waldron was right today on Sen. Richmond should go through the process. While sheeds is a legend, I think we need new blood like Damien Hardwicke etc, on that point Greg Denham threw up the comment that sheeds should take the job as if hardwicke took it his coaching career would be over which upset me. Does that mean whoever coachs us would be damaged goods

it amazes me how people can so easily dismiss someone like sheedy.........the man is a legend he deserves to at least be listened to

I don't think anyone is dismissing Sheeds barty, all we're saying is that there are no shortcuts for Sheeds. Through the process he goes and if at the end of it he's the best man for the job, then fantastic.

3AW tonight was essential listening for all of those thinking Kevin Sheedy is the answer to our prayers. The unanimous consesus was that the game has well and truly passed him by. In his final years at Ess the players found him completely unprepared, outdated and out of touch with what the opposition were doing. From a preparation, communication and understanding of the modern game, Knights was streets ahead according to key Ess players.

Who cares if he would draw in members, we need a coach not a circus performer.

Please no!

Membership has remained steady,we had a surge with cuz. But we are thick skinned mob and always moan but we keep coming back for more year after year.
If sheeds get the job through the process then so be it.
But we need someone with fresh ideas who can look a the players we got and and what we need and build a game plan around there strengths. As Brian Waldron and Neil Balme said we have to emotion out of it
Just my point of view :)

I understand where kb is coming from..........not scoring in two quarters against St Kilda,
