I am heading down this weekend to watch the Tiges and a few other games with a group of mates (our annual footy weekend away). Just wondering if anyone can suggest a good bar (or bars) to go to at the Dome to lubricate before the game?

Looks like picking round 8 as the trip weekend was not a good choice - heres hoping the boys do the right thing and get a win for me so I dont have to put up with the expected ridicule from the Adelaide boys!

Inside the ground there are two obvious choices, the locker room on level one which is usually smoky as hell and chockers to the point of waiting 10+ mins for a drink :help
On level 2 there's the Cougar bar which is bigger and easier to get a beer....which is why a few of us meet in there before and after the game.
Outside the ground itself, there are plenty of pubs and bars along King or Londale St.
There's one on the Cnr of the aforementioned streets called the Colonial which isn't a bad pot to go.
Its between Goldfingers and the Mens Gallery so its likely to test your group resolve if your on a boys weekend away :shakehead

explorer is ok - and there is one where its a sausage and a pot for $3.50 i think
thats all telstra dome is good for, the bars at the ground

HAHAHAHAHAHAH BRILLIANT! :clap

I think we need a dedicated thread to this topic, honestly if one more person asks about bars at the Telstra dome............................. :spin

i'm always at the cougar bar pre and post game every time we play at the dome.

many good bars around king st... i know them all as thats where i work. the problem is that a lot of them are closed on saturday afternoons. the colonial (cnr lonsdale & king sts) and the great western (cnr king and little bourke sts) are always open. so too the waterside (cnr flinders and king sts), 4th watch (cnr king & flinders lane)and royal melbourne (bourke st near king st).

my usual fridays night haunts... the fiddler (little collins neat king st) and exchange (cnr king and little collins sts) are usually closed on saturdays.

Ian4 my man....im going to a lil place called the 'OC' out in Lilydale (quality) tomorrow night in the hope i wont be able to physically go to the game on saturday!!! THat seems the best excuse no to turn up saturday...although i enjoy watching the kids.

..... Votw 1 Dallas Bar! ;D

dallas bar? geez that stretching it. they probably have the cheapest happy hour going around but what a dodgy place that is. and the beer isn't very cold. you would be better off going upstairs :duhman

Is everyone aware that there is a RFC members bar near aisle 14 Level 1 for home games at the Dome?
Its just a matter of flashing your membership card at the entrance and in you go.

didn't know that. i don't go near level 1 on home games because my seat and the cougar bar are on level 2.
