Just saw yesterday on the AFL site about the "battle of the fans" Vote for ur team...

Below is a snippet from the afl site and i have voted from my 2 different mobiles and also online, i encourage all PRE's to vote via mobiles and online, lets support the tiges in battle of the fans.... :emblem :gotigers :emblem

In the lead up to Rivalry Round, fans will be encouraged to register their support for their club to show that their club has more supporters cheering them on than their fiercest rival. Are Tigers more passionate than Magpies? Who cares more out of supporters of the Power and the Crows? Can the Blues army out-yell the Bomber faithful?

Fans can SMS their name, club and email address to 0427 555 999 or vote online at afl.com.au. Voting is open right across the round with the live results shown on the scoreboard throughout each of the eight massive Rivalry Round matches.

Does voting via SMS cost money? Those vote things always seem a real take to me, probably making phone companies rich.

Its a standard sms charge which is about 22 or 25 cents depending on ur phone carrier.

It would be great to see Richmond kick Collingwoods arse on and off the field.

It's really easy and quick!

The results will be shown during the game, so please vote!

It is the principle, not the cost. Some people just don't believe in donating any amount of money to organisations just for the sake of winning some meaningless voting contest. I'll put my 25c towards a sausage and a few cans at Punt Road next time I'm there before a game, that should help the club more than a pissing contest.

They would need to be able to read to know what team was on the board.

While I agree about the amount of rorts floating about via SMS and such, at least this one is a competition (raffle?!) in that you have a snowball's chance in hell of winning something. ;)
