They aren't playing better then last year.
Beams was always going to cause them issues. It hasnt reached the half way of the season and already the injuries are mounting up. Adams was to return last week and now is out for another 3, Degoey still having issues with his legs.
If they loose Grundy they will tumble out of the 8.

The biggest issue Beams presents them is he must be on decent coin (or is he on low coin because of this rumour), but assuming he's on good coin. With all 3 of De Goey, Moore and Grundy out of contract next year, if they lose ANY of those 3 due to salary cap issues then this was a terrible trade. Was never going to improve them by enough as their midfield was already one of the best.

We should allow Ellis to walk and we should chase Sier. Let’s bend them over

Jaidyn Stephenson is serious hot water after placing a bet on a Pies game earlier this season. Big suspension looming for the youngster..

What a dumb arse.

But, reading the News.com article, it wasnt his stupidity that stood out, it was this from WHE from the Queens Birthday game:

Hoskin-Elliott said last week the team’s forward line is reaping the benefits of not being goal hungry, but sticking to team rules.

That sometimes goes against their instincts, given forwards are all about kicking goals.

“You go into the Monday morning review thinking ‘geez, it’s going to be a tough one’,” he said.

“But the coaches reassure us that everything we’re doing is the right stuff. “It will come when it comes ... if you’re playing your role, that’s all the team needs.”

Copywood are still at it.

But all the players/clubs now talk about players playing roles and structures and everyone just doing their job.

Really surprised at this news.

From a distance Stephenson seems like an intelligent young man and the rules around gambling are drummed into players over and over again.

To risk your career for a insignificant wager like that just makes no sense.

I think your IQ drops by a fair few points the moment you agree to play for the Pies.
