Scott welsh to get the sarsparilla too

Really?

He played a full season in 2005 didn't he? Yes, 23 games. Kicked 58 goals.

So he's been fit recently. What's the problem? Groin injuries...

IMO this bloke is of interest.

Apparently he's tradeable according to Mark Stevens on SEN this morning.

Would be of interest if he's healthy. But that's the $64 question. He's had a lot of injury problems the last few years.

3rd club? Hmmm.
Something's askew.
Can't understand the Crows offloading him unless something was a little awry.

Wow,  Adelaide always striving for improvement.

No emotion or sentiment. The way a club should be run.
Maybe he didn't want to retire.Too many injuries but has been a great player.

"Tradeable", eh? Not punted?

If you could get him for next to nothing he's a better proposition than Kingsley or some of the other very average types on the market.

I reckon 2005 was the first full season he played for Adelaide. He's a one man injury list. That's for sure. They put him up at the end of 2004 and the big 2005 followed. Probably pulled his finger out in the preseason.

ToO, I reckon it's all the Saturdays he spends at the races that Adelaide aint happy about. ;D

Definitely worth trading a player for. When fit he is a consistant, reliable and, most importantly for us, accurate goalkicker. I would trade Krakouer for Welsh anyday.

Welsh is awesome. How old is he...? Cant believe they want to trade him especially with Henschell going down??

Why is Adelaide trading Scott Welsh?

He's obviously got major injury concerns, that's why.

He only played 6 games in 2006.

At 187cm he's not really a genuine FF.

He's 27 years old, same as Bradshaw who kicked 60 goals last year.

The big difference is DB is a genuine tall where as SW isn't.

I know who I'd rather have.

Welsh might be easier to get.

Kingsley, obviously ?

How did you guess? ;)

Seriously for a sec Redbelly.
What are your thoughts on Bradshaw?

He’s ok and he would be a step or two up on most players we’ve got on our list. Could be used up forward or down back.

But he’s 28 in November and judging by things, he won’t come that cheap.

I guess you get what you pay for. Then again we could go down the Kingsley path. ;)

A three year contract would see him turn 30 at the end of his third season.

He fills a hole that we require and IMO would certainly be better value for money for us than an Akermanis and he wouldn't cost that much.

Can't help but admire Adelaide's professionalism and ruthlessness, when managing their list.

Hart is one of the club's favourite son's, a 4 time AA & the club's games record holder, yet they've let him go at the age of 32. Their reasoning is list management due to long term injuries to Biglands and Hentschell.

Obviously there's not much room for sentiment at the AFC.
Their focus is on success & rightly so.
The club is bigger than the player and they will continue to improve by making the hard, unpopular decisions.

As for us picking him up? Won't happen.

Two words. Andy Kellaway.

Totally agree - no doubt there are some bleeding 'Harts' among the Crow faithful right now complaining about how a legend has been treated. The point is they are all highly paid professionals occupying what are limited places on player lists. Adelaide have made a tough call but a right one, the club does come first.

Here's hoping that Richmond follows their example - no player is untradeable or should ever be considered a permanent fixture at the club no matter how long they have been there. It's all about list management. Allow yourself to be blinded by sentiment and you condemn yourself to be a permanent loser.

And as for Richmond picking grapping him - topping up are for contenders and not for clubs that are still team building. Unless we are aiming to do a North Melbourne and want to perpetually finish in the middle of the ladder we'll give him a miss.
