Ben Nason Pick 71

Sitting here being a nostalgic and wondered if anyone knows what Ben is doing. Also thinking how we have recruited a bit better recently rather than the likes of Webbers, Farmer and to a degree Nason. Can anyone recall what we got for *smile* was it Farmer and pick 42 ?

Thanks TT best we forget that hey and never speak of it again. :-\

Haha. Yeah, I tend to just pretend it didn't happen.

It's funny that we got rid of Schulz and we have now been trying to plug a hole in our forwardline to find a player EXACTLY like Jay. Could you imagine still having Sarge now, instead of using Brad Miller and Aaron Edwards as our third tall's for the past 5 years.

Jay is exactly what we need right now, and we let him go for peanuts. Ah well, that's footy sometimes.

Watching that Eli Templeton from St Kilda reminded me of Ben Nason.

Schulz would be perfect right now. I think I read somewhere dimma actually wanted to keep him but the trade had pretty much been agreed on before he arrived? Or something? Bugger... Can't win em all

Even if we'd kept Schulz I doubt we would have seen much out of him. He didn't want to be here and played accordingly.

Disagree strongly.
There were quite a few players not enjoying their footy under Terry Wallace - who would have thunk?
I reckon a new beginning under a new coach like Dimma would have been just the ticket for Sarge - at the time when he was entering his prime, and Richo was about to retire.
Just one of the dumbest offloads in recent history - essentially a mature key forward for nix.
Nice work by whoever - Craig Cameron?

I really doubt that. Some players just won't perform if they're not comfortable where they are in terms of location. Schulz always wanted to go back home and once he'd achieved that goal he improved. Richmond did everything they could to make him feel like he belonged and he clearly never bought into it.

Sarge had asked the club to trade him back to S.A. the year before we actually did the deal. Unable to cement a senior spot, injury probs and ongoing pressure from his losing us a sponsor n not being able to perform at the levels he and others wanted all add up to needing a change to refresh n clear the head space. No-ones fault just necessary.
