Some great marks and here are a few more....

Jesaulenko against Collingwood
Ablett a number of good grabs
Mitchell - he took a couple of screamers in his time

Roach was the best - why, I was in the base of the Ponsford stand northern HFF/FP on the fence, the ball came in and one hawk went for the mark, another climbed over him and Roach launced and went up around 20ft in the air and took the ball on his chest - kicked a goal - fabulous - didnt think we lost that one but Haks nearly always had the wood on us in that period

I tried to register 2 choices, Roachy being one of them, but I registered under "Other" for Royce Hart's "Mark of the Year". (think it was against Geelong?)

It should be etched into every Tiger barracker's psyche, part of our tribal memory.

I must have known something - the Sunday Age had an article about great marks and featured pics of the two I mentioned (I was right about Royce's mark, it was against Geebung) and the other Tiger GM was Jack O'Rourke's mark back in 1950. I should have remembered that mark as I was there!

Bet all you baby-boomers have never heard of O'Rourke but he would have been the first real pin-up footballer as all the fems adored him.

I'm going to scan the 3 pics so if Rosy is interested I can email them to her - might get posted on PRE.

Howcome you didnt put Schulzy in there against da Hawks. It was pretty big. Didnt like the Sampi one, he landed on his feet which sorta made it look crap.

revolts against sydney was the best courage and closest to the best ive ever seen.....in the words of denis "look out" "you will see that time and time again"

What makes Roachys mark so incredible was that he got so high,he actually caught the ball BELOW his chest......and if you compare his position in relation to the hawks player in front of him,it gives you some idea how high he got....
Whilst Im on it....
Another tiger speccy which was flamin amazing but didnt get much press was that late 80,s mark taken by an indigenous player(Micheal Mitchell I think it was)He got so flamin high....He was STANDING UPRIGHT,soles of his boots 8 feet off the ground I reckon....anyone remeber that one?
Trevor Barker could take a hanger...as did capper, jezza and.....Royce Hart....his was pure gold too.............
And......gary Moorecrofts mark......the thing about Gary Moorecroft was it capped off an incredible quarter when he was on fire.....kicked 5 that quarter.......even matty Lloyd got out of the square cos mooorecroft was goin so well...unfortunately,that mark hurt Moorecroft...was the beginning of the end of his career......
