Was great to be back at the G last Friday night.

Being a home game I had my reserved seat in the Great Southern Stand, but this week as an away member can someone suggest a public area to sit in that isn't in the nosebleed section of either the Great Southern or New Northern stand.

As an away game our cheer squad will probably be at the City End? Is the new Ponsford stand reserved seating?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Can't wait to give it to those arrogant Essendon supporters! :blowingup

Re: Best place to sit this Sat night, as away team

I'll be in the long room. ;D

Re: Best place to sit this Sat night, as away team

We always sit at the top of the southern, behind the punt road end goals. Always plenty of Tiger supporters there, whether it's our home or away game. Good atmosphere and not bad viewing, as long as you sit in the bottom 10 or so rows of the 4th level.

Go Tiges!

probably the ponsford stand where i would imagine it would be mainly richmond supporters

loooking at

it appears the majority of the southern stand is essendon reserved seating...

With the capacity of the G & the current form of both sides, I would highly doubt it.

Punt road end, standing room behind the essendon mob, and just give it too them :cutelaugh!  Always a small, but vocal tiger crew there  :welcome. The dons aint what they used to be and won't be again for a long time. Time for us to give some back :blowingup.

Re: Best place to sit this Sat night, as away team

Up the top of the southern stand, behind the goals giving crap to the big fat ugly Essendon supporter who always wears the red and black checkered shirt with the black beanie. You can hear this guy from a mile away.

Re: Best place to sit this Sat night, as away team

The Cheer Squad will be sitting in the Ponsford End .. The Grog Squad will still be standing in it's usual area ,behind the Punt Road End goals . M2. :beer :beer

Re: Best place to sit this Sat night, as away team

Thanks for the suggestions.

One thing everyone should take note of and that is:

Although this is an Essendon home game at the MCG, the two clubs have a joint gate-share arrangement this season.

So following on from 55,000 last week, 60,000 this week will help our bottom line a great deal.

Re: Best place to sit this Sat night, as away team

last week i bought reserved seats for this game. i'm sitting on level 2 in the ponsford stand. as i'm a 16 game member, it only cost me a further $14.

funnily enough i went to the roos v demons game last saturday and sat in almost the same spot (though a couple of sections closer the the MCC members area). that tells me this game is probably fully ticketed.

Wonder how long this arrangement of sharing the gate will last for.

I remember Richmond getting greedy sharing the gates with Collingwood and as a result we dont play them as the opening game of the season anyone. It was always great beating Collingwood first game of the yr.

Seating this week

Hey guys,

Checking out the Scummer website (Yes i feel dirty even typing it into the address bar ;)) - It appears they have similar MCG to us - ie: Ground level in Southern & Northern.

Does anyone know if the Ponsford Stand will be GA on Sat night?

Have a look at this link nwo. It might change your opinion a little.

Seems to me like it was one of the few sound decisions off the field the club had made in recent years.

The sections above the old red set area are a good spot to sit.
