..... So I'm coming across the strait to watch round one.... In your opinion what station should I listen to at the G on Thursday night and what bandwidth are they on? Don't care who they are as long as they are not totally jokers!

Mate go with B1.. When he does go, he doesn't shut-up..
"Handpass, Handpass, Handpass, Kick it, Kick it, give to Brown, Brown back to Newman etc...
B1 will be happy with the countdown clock, more info, more rubbish from his mouth..

Thanks B2

On AM, the game is being covered by:

ABC 774
SEN 1116
3AW 693

On FM, the game is being covered by:

Triple M 105.1
K-Rock - don't know the frequency - but you wouldn't bother anyway.

Any or the 3 AM, or MMM, are OK.

For a pure commentary without attempts at unnecessarily sensationalising things - stick to 774, and because there are no ads, there's more footy.

For a bit of humour and hype, try MMM or 3AW
SEN is OK, but eddie is probably commentating. They start earlier and finish later which is good if we win!

Serious TimTam. At the game nothing beats 3AW.. When you are winning it's great. You enjoy the footy and have a good laugh at the same time. You can see where the ball is so you just need to know injury updates and sometimes who has the ball. SEN is to fake for me. They try to copy Rex to much and now that BIG HEAD is there they do not come anymore fake than him...

That's my opinion..

I vote SEN as well.

I find Rex Hunt and MMM unlistenable. And the ABC for me is a bit too staid these days.

TTM I suggest (for coke zero) that you try (for clive peters) to aviod (checking the radio rentals score board) the commercial stations (try KFC it's finger licking good) if you want to (national nine news) listen to real footy (buy your new car at kevin dennis motors). Stick to 774.

If you must listen to a commercial network, steer clear of that gasbag that played for us 35 or so years ago.

Seriously though, you wont need a radio on Thursday night. Just absorb the roar of the Tigers as we flog those overrated cheats!!

774 because they have a clear concise call and if McLure is special comments, great insight.

You mean the McLure that loathes Richmond. Some of his comments about us in recent years have been despicable.

Good advice - it's gunna be a buzz.

And if you do need any info, there will generally be a kindly Tiger around to ask questions of:

"Hey mate, have they said the last time Fev went a game without a kick?"

"Have they said how many possessions is that for Cuz up till half time - 20?"

If you actually want to know what is happening at the game then 774 are the best. The only thing that mars their coverage is McClure, with the possible exception of Patrick Smith, who thank God does not do commentary, he is the most negative caller I've ever heard. It doesn't matter how good the football is or who's playing McClure will find one negative thing to talk about and harp on it until you feel like throwing the radio through the window.

The Tobin brothers?

I'd prefer the ABC coverage that actually informs you what's happening out there to wannabe comedians and legends in their own lunchbox who carry on like prize clowns without any danger of actually describing the game to you.

careful rosy, you'll offend a fair few PRE stalwarts with comments like that ;)
