After little contemplation I thought I would do a list of the best & worst kicks we have seen in the last 10 years. Obviously good kicking will become paramount to breaking "the zone."

Best

1. M.Knights
2. B.Cousins
3. B.Deledio
4. C.Newman
5. A.Krakouer

Worst

1. D.Gaspar
2. D.Kellaway
3. T.Fleming
4. S.Tuck
5. B.Moore

Cameron is a sure thing in the best as is Brown.

Bit contraversial but I would have Bowden and Pettifer in there too.

Bit harsh on Tuck, uncanny accuracy in front of goal.

Agreed re: Leon Cameron. I'd take out Krak. Brodders could also be up there in the best kicks.

A bit unfair on Tuck to have him in the worst - plenty of competition.

Forgot abot Leon. Certainl inclusion. List was only compiled on a whim so others will probably have better "cantidates"

Richo would have to be leaning towards the worst bracket too.

I assume you mean Benny Moore? He hardly played a game for us and I can't remember his kicking as to whether it was good or bad.

I wasn't sure if he fit into the "last 10 yr" category but after checking he does just make it. Last season was '99 with just 6 games.

Generous too having Benny Cousins in there after 1 game.

Currently, Shane Edwards is one of the most atrocious kicks I've seen going around at AFL level for some time. He seems to have trouble guiding the ball onto his foot, it ALMOST looks like the ball is too big for his hands.

And yet there are over 200 pages of whinging about Tambling and a thread on Mc Mahon surely destined to reach 200 pages, complaining about their kicking skills. I guess with Tambling at pick 4 a lot was expected. However the difference between Mc Mahon at pick 19 and Edwards at pick 26 is not so great. I think it's very fashionable to bag out certain players on PRE while others get a free ride.

I know if I was after a guy to hit a target on the run from 45 meters away I would probably go Delidio, Newman, Brown, Pettifer, Mc Mahon, Bowden, Schulz, Morton and perhaps Cousins.

Some unfashionable and unpopular names in there but if I was a betting man and money was involved that is how I would lay mine.

And not one mention of Tivendale. Sure he could be an awesome kick, but 9/10 times he was more likely to hit an opponent on the chest.

Chaffey, Knobel, Ray Hall, Gaspar, Kellaway? There's 5 pretty ordinary kicks. You could throw in another 20 names I reckon, and fight about all of them equally.

Really glad that a few of you have already indicated Leon Cameron.

For about two years he was an absolute joy to behold :clap

A raking left foot from the half back flank that would pinpoint a running player 40-50m away.

Brings a tear to my eye :)

white, edwards, polak, richardson, polo, mcmahon, mcguane, tuck, jon, jackson, coughlan, pattison, johnson, gourdis, hughes, king, raines. of the current list and thats just for starters.
so many poor kicks and so few good ones.the scary thing is i think we have improved over the yrs.
2004 campbell chaffey coughlan fiora fleming gaspar hall hartigan hyde jackson johnson kellaway kellaway harsh nicho;s raines richardson roach rodan tivendalr tuck weller na i retract we have hardly improved at all.

sick thing is that he is a natural right footer, just pure on both sides.

2. M.Knights
3. Bowden
4. Newman
5. N.Brown

Agree for sure.

Brodders would rate in my top 3. Sensational kick. Leon Cameron would be top 3 as well.

Very harsh call on Tuck, plenty worse than him.

Best
L. Cameron
B.Deledio
M.Knights
P.Broderick (not many better under 40)
N.Brown

Worst
The Rest. Som shockers include
King of the Clinton variety
Chaffey
Gaspar
McGuane
We have had far too many.

i would put Richo in the best kick i have seen and worst kick i have seen.

Cleve Hughes is a beautiful kick and Knights on his left foot only, Nathan Brown off both feet, but the one player that i thought was the best has to be Leon Cameron. An absolute gem to watch kick.

I don't really want to put down a worst kick because in the last 10 years we have had our fair share
