Just a thread from the north for those interested.

The AFLNT is announcing today that the NT will enter a team in the SANFL next season. This is something that has been on the boil for a while up here. This will hopefully provide a stronger pathway for the undoubted AFL talent in the NT and perhaps speed the assimilation process "down south" for blokes like Tambling and Brennan.

In addition, it seems we'll be enjoying our last season of wet season footy right now, with the switch to match with southern leagues a certainty (so reverves from the SANFL side can still get a game). Shame - I really love the weather for footy here in the wet. Plus, it's a great option for NT kids to be able to play footy AND cricket (or other summer sports) which will now be compromised.

Hopefully it all works out ok.

Talking of footy and NT.
Doing channel surfing there's a good game on right now on the ABC2 Digital Channel.
Good watching now our local footy's all finished and not much in cricket yet.

That would be Sthn Dists (Tambling's old club) v Waratahs from last Sat evening. I went to that game. You may notice a kid some of the junior watchers talked about last year called Jethro Calma-Holt. He plasy a handy game across half-back.

Good to see they moved him out of the forward line.
