Biggest decision in 2007 - will TW do it?

Allow him to play the year out, remove him from the captaincy at years end, he and the word leadership are so far apart that it's not even funny.

Connors in two games has shown more than Johnson all year.
The players might get rid of Wallace before Wallace gets rid of the players.
Senior players that is who are underperforming and failing week after week.
Get your hand off it.

johnno has got to go. if the prez's comments are to be taken seriously johnno must be part of the cull.

He has had Op and the han injury all year, but I dno't think anyone belives he has the personality to be the "on-field General" that we need.
Maybe a pinch hitter from the boundary next season would be the way to go.
I agree with MB, we are committed to keeping him next season

Wont be captain next year. Has been good since coming over to us but the game has gone past him bit though he is only 29. At the crows he played as a wingman in a very good team. If we were any good he could play this role still but unfortunately he has to get his own possessions and is under the pump. Had great skills at adelaide and could still be good for us if our younger midfield players come on.

Is Johnson contracted for next year?

I think he has one year left on his contract.
If thats the case he'll probably continue with us,won't be able to trade him

Yeah, Whilst Kane has had a poor season so has just about everyone else. I can't see the board taking a hard line on him, no-one else will want him so he'll stay on next season but won't be captain.

There is no doubt these injuries have severely hampered him this year, but the sad reality is that we haven't had anyone to replace him.

If the injuries are the type that will benefit from rest or surgery then do it now. I don't think we can make the finals from here.

Give the slot to someone like a Hartigan or co who obviously in need of showing something in a hurry.

End Sugar's career at RFC????
Close to the worst Captains performance I have ever seen >:(
Sugar should be flipping burgers down here at the Moe Maccas rather than running around in the Captain Blood's jumper. Thank god Ablett and Dunstell have retired.

Are we ever goin to be any good??????????

Wallace will place careful scrutiny on every senior player on the list and then every junior player. There will be nothing special taken into account for Kane versus any other senior players - being captain offers no protection.

I'd be amazed if the 'biggest' decision a senior AFL coach whose team is sitting on the bottom of the ladder needs to make is around one player who has not been on the list that long. Somewhat melodramatic there walhalla.

Respect is earned, not given. He's done jack for Richmond since he came from Adelaide; and B&F is no great achievement at RFC these days with the list of duds to compete with.

He had a very good year last year. The only decent stopper we had and he picked up the oppositions main play maker all year. I don't think he was beaten too often.

Sure, this year he hasn't played well at all but there are rumours of injuries so we'll see what operations he has after the season is done. To say he's done nothing is crap.

I'll also cut him some slack because he's been a die hard Richmond supporter all his life as were his father and grandfather. Anyone that has Tiger blood gets an extra bit of support from me.

Lets see how he goes next year. If it's 06 form, then we need him. If it's 07, then I would like to think his position in the team is based on merit and performance, not because we're sadly lacking decent senior players to support our kids.

It wasn't that long ago that captain ineptitude was talking about weeding out those who weren't up to the task of representing the RFC. He really doesn't see himself as part of that group. Won't relinquish the captaincy either. Status quo will remain at the club next year. Be very surprised to see a change in the 'leadership' group.

Blokes like that cost coaches there jobs! And if wallace has any balls whatsoever, he will give Johnson a tap on the shoulder and move him on...

Thanks for everything Johno... but time's up pal...

Caged Tiger!!
Gasp's form was better than Sugar's!, yet no sentiment there when "careful scrutiny" ruled TW's head!!
Double standards by TW and his pet shop boy's is causing major (beneath the surface) rifts in our beloved club.
For a very proud player (and person) like Bowden to be playing without real heart and total commitment, one must really question WTF is going on down there.
