Biggest ever turnaround in a player.

Maybe the penny dropped after his awful rendition of 'Wonderwall' on the Footy Show last year. Don't give up your day job and all that. I must admit I thought he was candidate to be traded or delisted. It just goes to show that people are way too hasty to write young footballers off these days. Shane Tuck took until the age of 24 to come good. His old man was the same. Tucky Sr. played nearly 100 reserves games before going on to play in 7 premierships and 430 odd games.

Well done Kayne. Just don't ever pick up a microphone ever again.

Other big turnarounds: Barry Hall, Brendon Fevola, Jason Akermanis, Martin Pike, Russell Robertson, Joel Bowden, Trent Croad, Brodie Holland, Shane O'Bree, Paul Licuria, Jason Johnson, Paul Salmon (up-down-up again) , John Barker, Craig Bolton, Brett Kirk, Kris Massie, Nathan Eagleton, Jordan McMahon, Luke Darcy, Troy Simmonds, Travis Johnstone, Dale Kickett, Peter Everitt, Kevin Walsh, Gary O'Donnell, John Barnes, Stephen Milne, Robert DiPierdomenico, Russell Greene and the biggest turnaround EVER, Gary Ablett Sr.
hasty my arse he showed nothing for 5 yrsif we had of delisted him no one would have blamed us. he is still one of the softest players i have ever seen and he has deficiencies. it will take more than a good 12months to win me over. imo a very tradeable player for an early pick or 2.

Wallace told Petts to finally read the posts on PRE about himself. In doing so he returned to TW the next week after reading years of posts & said, "Damn and I thought I was playing well ! :bash ".

Got his wake up call from PRE. The penny dropped and has become the player he is now...

Well done PRE ! :hihi

Pettifer, Hyde and Tuck would all be current players who have got their career back on track after Wallace's arrival. All three were pretty shaky listings at the beginning of 2005, all three have cemented a place in the senior side since then and been key factors in our improvement.

I agree with the other two but Hyde finished 5th in the B&F in 2004.
However you're right he's taken his game to another level since then.

i'm so happy he stopped the self cursing. That has reallly been a great step forward.

i actually posted something along those lines earlier this year about how he should cut it out becuase every player makes mistakes but his reactions just magnify it.

I'm not sure that he read it   :hihi  but he missed a goal the next week and you could see him start to wind up into a tantrum and then he caught himself, calmed down and just ran back to position.
Yeah, his cursing and head-banging used to make me fume. They are the habits of a born loser. I'm pleased to see him now more relaxed and positive...... and how much better results he is getting(marks, goals).

I'm with Claw though. Pettifer needs to keep improving and remain focussed for a lot longer before getting too carried away with his own ability.

One other thing which worries me about Kayne. Those bags around his eyes make him look like he gets nowhere near enough effective sleep  :help
